Thank you for nice video! I am great fan of Bangkok and rail transportation in general. Three things I want to mention: Only the blue MRT-line as all its stations under the ground (except Tao Poon). The purple line is more like a skytrain. going above the ground all the way to Khlong Bang Pai. I t has nothing much to offer for sightseeing, but you have a good view of the surrounding areas, and fun fact, in Khlong Bang Phai I saw the biggest Park and Ride parking house ever until now...) Second: Annoying with the MRT (and on my last two visits in April 2018 and July/August 2018 also sometimes on the BTS) is that you have to pass security check, where sometimes your luggage is searched. Third: The new notes with the picture of His Majesty King Vajiralonkorn did not work in the ticket machines on the MRT. Keep up your good work, I enjoy your videos!

The name of some stations make people confused such as Saladang of BTS is called Silom by MRT... I appreciated foreigner like you for presenting this information to public.
@ttt141196 жыл бұрын
Both Salalaeng BTS and Silom MRT is located at Silom Road. BTS construct and open on 1999 (Thai people call 6th Birthday The Great King Bhumipol Adunyadej) and Blue line MRT (Thai people call Chaloemratchamongkon (Mass Rapid Transit Bangkok Metropolitan or MRT) open on 2004. Silom Road is one road about center business in Thailand. You can interchange pass by Skywalk which interchange MRT and BTS Skytrain.

16thb, but you omitted mention of the distance. Regardless, 50 US cents (US$0.50) is SUPER-cheap. For comparision, my daily commute on SF's "BART" comuter rail, end-to-end, was US$14.00 round trip.

very helpful thanks. Good advert for your tours too, now Im thinking of taking the 2 hour boat tour, but some dates say Pending Approval. What does this mean?
@covankesselbangkok-bikeand57255 жыл бұрын
Hi Carpii, thank you for your interest in our tours! The 2 hour boat tour needs at least 2+ people to run. For the days we don't have any bookings yet, we will say Pending Approval, to see your booking and then approve manually. If you are alone, we will try to move around a booking to make sure we can do a tour on your preferred date! Please, if you have any more questions, send us an email through our website! www.covankessel.com/

Nice looking shirt! Is that a Thai shirt? Very informative video. Is the 50% discount price for people under 14 and over 60 years old applicable to foreigners? How do people under 14 show their age? Do you have to pay a fine if you lose the token and cannot exit MRT?
@covankesselbangkok-bikeand57257 жыл бұрын
Hi YT Viewer, yes that is an original Thai shirt from the north of Thailand. Yes, the discount is also applicable for foreigners. Just have to show a valid ID-card. We have experienced once that we lost the token, and the staff asked us where we came from. Then we had to pay that same price again. The Thai are very honest in general due to their Buddhism believes. Thank you for your interesting and helpful questions as always! Hope this helped. :)

@tropturd64585 жыл бұрын
Duhhh Manila already has a metro since 1990's while Bangkok only got theirs last year. FYI. there are ongoing constructions of a 7th MRT and a subway in metro manila. Does Bangkok have that?
@offspringtu5 жыл бұрын
@@tropturd6458 FYI In the video is the blue line which has been operated for 15 years! Bangkok has 2 MRT lines which is the blue and the purple line, also BTS (The green line) which has been operated for 20 years! Bangkok also has Airport line which connects to the green line. All these four lines are heavy rail. And now the pink, yellow, orange, red lines are under construction (the pink and yellow lines are light rail). This is 2019. I believe Internet is accessible worldwide, so it's not hard to search for more info you don't know right?

@@offspringtu My point is, Manila has older rail system, that's why it looks archaic unlike thailand. And why are people comparing things nowadays. Sheeesh. The rail line in the video is new so why are they still comparing a new one to an old one?!!!!!
