You still have to do all the things you would do after winding on cardboard. Sometimes these tools unnecessarily complicate a simple process!

You can see the suction pads are totally useless! Doesn't hold the contraption to the work surface AT ALL! (Read same in reviews on Amazon.). It does look very cheap and very wobbly! Just watched the video for the Clover tassel maker, looks SO much easier. Thanks for the video as wasn't sure which one to buy. I'll be buying the Clover one for sure now.

I don't see the advantage of this over just using a piece of cardboard. All this does is let you use a handle to wind the cord instead of just winding it around cardboard. I love Beadalon products, but I think this one is a waste of money.

Lea Gilbert If you are using cardboard, don't you have to cut several different sizes of cardboard templates in order to make different size tassels? That sounds cumbersome. I would also think that this tool would come in handy for making jump rings, if you use just one of the metal spools instead of two. It's a multitasker. And as for the suction cups not securing the device well enough for some people, all one needs to do is either put 3M Velcro strips on it and the surface of your choice, or screw it to a piece of lumber, or a table if you want a permanent placement.

I was thinking the same thing. I find the cardboard doesn't get in the way like this little machine does. More space, to tie the tassel off. But it was very nice of her to show us this.

Thank you for sharing this with us! I love tassels. Especially very ornate or unusual ones. Currently I have a few eclectic tassels. I have 2 with antique globes at the top and 12 inch tassels on them. I also have 2 with fleur- de -lis wood carved tops, one with large rhinestone topper with 14 inch purple silk , and one from Prague ( Czech republic) that is on wood. The top has Roses and gold leaf accents, then burgandy and black alternating mini pom poms, and ending in 10 inches of white, black, burgandy silk . Thank you again, and I apologize for my rambling.

Sorry but that awkward to me.. i made tassles for the first time the other day using my hand .worked out great . then tried nails to see if that was better..nope..so im thinking after watching this ,i'll still stick by hand..but each to their own..thx though..good to learn

Honestly when we make tassels here in the design studio we prefer just wrapping them by hand around a piece of cardboard cut to the right length, but we've found over the years that most tools, no matter how niche, are a godsend to somebody.
