How to remove cursor recording? It freeze my mouse coursor when I am writting in MS Onenote

@@patomatma Camtasia records your cursor track separately. With the screen recording selected, in your properties panel up top there is a cursor tab. You can lower the opacity there OR click “Edit Cursor Path” and change where the cursor goes.

I’ve seen a growing trend of KZbin videos where the cursor has a motion blur effect when moving around on screen. Is there a way to enable motion blur to your cursor in Camtasia?

Hi, your question is a little complicated, because you cannot remove the original cursor layer if you're using Cursor Smoothing. Cursor Smoothing is smoothing the ORIGINAL cursor. If you turn the cursor opacity down to 0%, you'll lose the smooth cursor. Does that make sense? It's not creating a new cursor layer.

@@techsmith I'm having the same problem. The cursor smoothing DOES create another cursor and leaves the original on screen. So now I have 2 cursors which is even more visually distracting and potentially confusing.

@@redicoyote ​ If you're seeing a secondary cursor being created from a drag-and-drop effect like cursor smoothing, you may want to open a support ticket as that's definitely not normal functionality: bit.ly/ts-gethelp I would suggest removing the effect in the Properties panel, and re-applying it to try again. Or, if you're on a newer version like 2022, using the "Cursor Path" effect, and choose "Simplify Path" to get a similar effect.

is there a way to edit cursor position? cursor path ?

To change the path? As in where the cursor points? No. That's from the recording. The only way would be if you turned the cursor levels opacity to 0% and put in a fake cursor and animated its movements instead. This is something we have done, but can be VERY time consuming depending on video length.

The cursor smoothing effect is available only in Camtasia 2019! Have you upgraded? :)

Hello Techsmith. How did you create the nice cursor in this video? Is this an animation?

To make these tutorials our Customer Education team brings in a cursor (.png) and animates it. Having been in the habit of creating sharp, easy to follow tutorials since before Cursor Smoothing existed in our software they continue to use this method on many tutorials, while on others Cursor Smoothing is our go-to for smooth cursor motion.
