Small addition: If you change to exotic and want to compare damage, weapon strength isnt accurately modelled (yet?), since only weapon skills + kits scale with the weapon you are wielding. Utility skills outside of kits use varying inconsistent weapon strength values, so it's actually very hard to get accurate results from it. Anyway, this is good as an additional resource, so i'll also link to this in te gearing guide cause it saves me from explaining all of this :)

Great point about the exotic gear damage not being accurately modelled. I thought about including it in the video but figured that was a little too much detail for what is already a more technical video. As long as you can get an idea of what the 'best' option is when you're subbing in exotic gear then I figure the tool is doing its job (even if the estimated DPS numbers aren't completely on point)/ Thanks so much for linking the video in your gearing guide :) It makes gearing classes from scratch so much easier.

That would be the separate Arcdps boon table addon. I install it through the unofficial addon manager.

Awesome tool! I think it also would be helpful if there were a tool/addon to help players doing the build rotation, like if you could create a sort of “chain” of skills to highlight on your skill bar so that you could customize it with the order and the time each skill must be pressed, also with the ability to save your own customizable presets of rotations.

Actually, the Blish Hud has something like that it's called Special forces, you can build a rotation there and it will highlight it on your skillbar
