After 5 years of flying DJI drones and being licensed to do so, I thought I would also take the opportunity to try FPV drones, wow! is it so completely different! After a couple of flights today I've already decided to spend the next 100 or so on a FPV simulator and managed to get DJI digital system remote working with Liftoff after seeing this video :)
@5zero7RC4 жыл бұрын
Yep, FPV is a whole different world. It takes a bit of time to get the hang of it, but it is very much worth the effort. Good luck!
@KyleLi4 жыл бұрын
I got it working! Make sure you update & use a usb-c to usb-c or a usb-c to usb (regular one, both work i've tested even with magnetic cables). Once you have it updated, even if in devices it says that drivers aren't found, make sure you open something like liftoff and then CALIBRATE. There wont be any input at the start, but select HID INTERFACE (not USB-HID keyboard) and calibrate using that. Spin your sticks and see if there is any input signal (YOU MUST CALIBRATE FIRST). This was driving me mad only seeing HID Interface and USB-HID keyboard. For some weird reason it said it detected pigeon when I first plugged in, but it gets identified as that HID interface name.

Hi, I just bought a DJI controller to connect it to my Mac, as indicated in the video, but when it comes to calibrate the Controller, no YAW is detected during the calibration, no channel for the yaw! This is with the USBC cable connection to my Mac as shown in this video. Has this issue been encountered by anyone please? Could it be a bad controller, brand new from DJI!?!?

That seems very strange. Have you tried more than one simulator? There are at least a couple free ones you can try just to make sure it is not unique to the sim you are using. I assume you don't yet have the DJI FPV goggles to go with the radio? If you did, you could check the sticks in the menu of the goggles.

@5zero7RC4 жыл бұрын
You could try to install a free simulator like the Curry Kitten FPV sim, plug in your controller, and see if it works. However even if it does, it won't be ideal because FPV controllers don't have a centering spring on the throttle. If you do want to practice flying FPV in a simulator, consider getting a $39 BetaFPV LiteRadio 2.

@@5zero7RC @5zero7 RC thanks for getting back to me! I'm in Canada, so I need to do an in-person practical exam to get my license (not just a written test like in the US). @@emmakay5905 I know most FPV simulators let you change your camera view to a line of sight (LOS) mode. But it can be really hard to fly that way in a simulator. Pretty sure the Curry Kitten one gives you two LOS views, one as you would expect, and one zoomed in so you can see the drone better. does it work with dji Spark?

Can I use mavic mini controller on this?
@5zero7RC3 жыл бұрын
I don't think so, but you can double check by plugging it into your computer and if the computer recognizes it as a joystick, it might work. You could try that with one of the free simulators as a test.
