As always Benett, an excellent presentation. I own several Gimbals. Moza Mx2, Dji 3,4,5, Zhyun smooth 5. I know, overkill. I am not proficient with any of them but at 79 I am learning. The reason for the Smooth 5 is its capacity, its ability to handle the Iphone 13 pro with filters and lenses. But the OM5 is my general go to gimbal because of its size and weight and the selfie stick. Because I am physically limited in personal motion because of bad back and bad knees I find the OM5 a great benefit in getting the shots a physically fit person could normally get. However not everything is video. I love still photography as well. I would love to see your take on the Shiftcam Pro grip for doing stills and video.

Hi! Very informative video! 👍🏻 I recently got the Osmo mobile 5 but I have been experiencing problems using it with the iPhone 13 Pro Max. Do you know if the iphone pro max is too heavy for this gimbal? I started making walking videos but I noticed that the phone sometimes will get stuck sideways, especially when I pan the phone+gimbal to film something on the side and then bring it forward as I’m walking. Do you think that has to do with the iPhone weight, Or perhaps a setting that I’m not aware of?

Was waiting for a proper review before I buy it . I have read on many forums that motors on OM5 is not supporting iPhone 13 Pro max 100% as it should be and also I have read by DJi tech team that they are working on some kind of update ? Hi Cheetah! I haven’t experienced any glitches so far. I usually don’t record 15 - 20 minutes straight. Usually I leave it in standby mode or turn it off completely. It did quite a good job so far. Dji has recently updated the compatibility list saying that the iPhone 13 pro max is compatible👍🏻

@@limitlesskontent4172 yes it does support the phone. I have been using it all evening . I have extreme skin cover on my phone and I had to take it off for mounting bracket to fit snug ! So basically no phone covers would work if mines don’t as slim my Cover is . Although I will be returning it in 2-3 days it’s not for me . I was exited to get thr gimbal but it’s not very easy to operate it’s annoying and I am some what of a tech guy but in my own opinion it’s not worth thr hype (gimbal in general ) j have pretty sturdy hands and have produced some bad ass shots myself and gimball is just annoying to me , maybe I just need to use it everyday to get a hang of it , like suppose I can’t seem to make the camera go from left to right in a room full of people without camera being stuck at one position and gimbal and my hand is moving , I have to use thr joystick on the gimble to take that left to right common shot which is annoying to me atleast . I always thought you can just regular shots like how you would have your phone in your hand and just tilt and pan left to right too and bottom but no I was u able to do this and I gave up after trying every single settings . I am sure everyone is not same and most people will not agree to me as they will adapt to different way of shooting . For me it’s simply annoying and I am not taking any fancy shots laying down on floor lol or taking shots of someone’s feet . I am shooting vehicles and buildings and landscapes And people in general and I belive my iPhone 13 pro max does a pretty badass job stabilizing that footage and I can do minor tweeking in the post ! So verdict is Gimbal is not for me at all I have to make a trip back to Best Buy in 2 days to return it lol ! But you try it for yourself and come back to this comment and let me know what you think of it and are you able to get use to it ! Good luck

HI Benett, thanks for the tutorial, it's so helpful and easy to follow. I plan on using my iphone 13 max and dji 5 to record home tours for youtube. Any tips on settings? I plan to basically walk the house and record a smooth natural walk through the floorplan while also capturing details. I did some trials and when I move the dji up to record details on the ceiling/ height, I struggle to get the phone to move all the way up, any tips on this? Not sure what setting would work best.

Thank you Benett for the video and replying to my earlier questions. Another question: I was using OM5 and Filmic Pro with iPhone 11 Pro. Usually I have the stabilization option off when using Filmic Pro because Filmic recommends that. But yesterday I turned on the option within Filmic Pro to use Cinematic in stabilization, and it really helped smooth the shots. Why not use the iPhone's Cinematic stabilization option we see in Filmic Pro? My guess is you then have two stabilization systems (phone and OM5) fighting each other...which can eat up battery power, and stress the gimbal's motor...but I think I'll use Cinematic stabilization for short clips.. Any thoughts from anyone?

I got the OM 5 and sent it back, the one major setback is the fact you cannot keep a case on the device while using the Gimbal. Also, there are so many features lacking for the iPhone 13 Pro Max that essentially you're paying $170 for a trial version of the Gimbal with all the incompatible features. I guess if you use Filmic or Native you'd be better off, but it still defeats the purpose.

Very informative but I noticed you have a lavalier mic pinned to you. I’m assuming the other end of the mic ( rodes perhaps?) must be plugged in the phone. How do you plug it in and not have the gimble spin down or out of control while having the mic plugged in? This is a problem I have had while trying to film my KZbin drum videos and using the gimble. Great video Benett. I'm using Filmic Pro and just bought OM5, using with iPhone 11Pro. My big question is whether Mimo app affects settings when you just have Filmic Pro on. For example, the follow speed seems too fast when I'm just panning OM5 around. So I went into Mimo and changed it to slow. Not sure that makes any difference when I'm only using Filmic Pro. Also, Filmic Pro doesn't work with OM5...I think it does up to Osmo 4. So for now, OM5 doesn't do much at all as most buttons don't work. But I don't need all the fancy things Mimo would add. Not sure yet if I'll keep OM5. I also have Osmo 3 which I am still pretty happy with, except the magnetic clamp in OM5 is great.

For me the Dji OM4 is a great option in terms of price and features. It can also handle the iPhone 13 Pro Max better and you are able to use it as a power bank which is a huge plus. The magnetic clamp os awesome and makes the setup process much quicker. I rarely use the mimo app. I only use it to calibrate the gimbal and change the gimbals settings. Most of the time I either use the native or filmic pro 👍🏻
