Nicely done, I have a iphone 13+. I also have the case with the magnetic case for charging. Is this strong enough to safely hold the phone to the gimbal. I also have a DJI 3 gimbal and really do not like the way the large phone sits in the cradle so thinking of upgrading gimbal to the 5.

Hello there! May please ask how do you record video for the unboxing? What’s the set up? I want to make videos like this on my desk, having the camera on top but haven’t found a decent set up/ phone mount that will work out. Please help, thanx
@HowToDoItTech2 жыл бұрын
Hi there! I have a very inexpensive set-up (compared to a lot of content creators, I imagine). Here's a list of the things I use in my set-up (or alternatives due to availability): Neewer Tabletop Light Stand Clip Stand: amzn.to/3gIKsSV NEEWER Tripod Ball Head 360° Panoramic All Metal with Arca Type: amzn.to/3VsNwle Neewer Tripod Boom Arm: amzn.to/3VGySX3 Softbox, RALENO LED Softbox Lighting Kit: amzn.to/3ESudKJ Neewer Dimmable 176 LED Video Light: amzn.to/3gIiNS4 I also use an old Sony MX100 camera which is fine for 1080p. I actually use the Neewer tabletop light stand with the tripod ball and boom arm as a cheaper alternative to dedicated booms. However, I will look into buying better equipment in the future.

I have the same DJI OM5 but when I use it for live streams and walk it shakes left and right. And suggestions why it’s not stable I am a missing any settings. I already calibrated it.
@HowToDoItTech2 жыл бұрын
Ah, yes. I can see that being a problem. While streaming from another app, you're not using the Mimo app which includes ActiveTrack. ActiveTrack is great for vlogging because you can record footage via the DJI software. But for streaming, the gimbal is not synched with DJI's app. Unfortunately, I don't know of a solution at this time, but maybe DJI will include a future update specifically for streamers. I would also like to see that because you can then use other apps to capture video too, such as the native camera app on most phones.

I appreciate you video and learnt a lot, unfortunately what you didn't cover (no one has from all my searching) is how to transfer video and photos to a pc or laptop. I use Premier Rush editing and can't work out how to transfer from DJI OM5 Mimo App to my laptop. Hopefully you can answer this question?. Thank you
@HowToDoItTech2 жыл бұрын
Hi! Thanks very much for the kind words about the video and glad it was useful. That's a good point on how to download the clips. So, with Android, I recommend using Google Photos and the clips should back-up automatically to your account and be accessible as other videos on your phone. You may need to set the folder to back up in the Google Photos settings. However, you can also export the files from the Mimo app by tapping the icon in the top righthand corner of each preview on your phone to any of the most popular apps including Google Drive. As an additional tip, if you prefer to edit your videos on desktop, I would recommend using computer back up using the process in my video: Access Folders on Your Computer From ANYWHERE with Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive kzbin.info/www/bejne/oIrGoYWohMlksNU.

Most videos shots have a wobble. Could it be because of the weight or balance of the phone that you are using with the gimbal?
@HowToDoItTech Жыл бұрын
Oh yes. There is an upper limit the gimbal can support, but more importantly there's sweet spot between weight and smoothness of movement. Having said that, there's always going to be some movement when using a simply gimbal like this, but it'll be much better than not using one.

Followed this video. Very well done. I subscrfibed. I do have a question. When I start the gimbal while on included tripod it is tilting downward when I tgurn it on. Should it not start at level position? I have had same problem with first gimbal and returned for 2nd one. Both did the same thing so I am guessing this is not a faulty gimbal. I am using an iphione 13 pro max with the gimbal with a case similar to the one you use in the v ideo. I did your leveling technique and chose the auto calibration. That seemed to work. Problem is just when turn on first time. Thank you.
@HowToDoItTech2 жыл бұрын
Hi! Thank you very much for the kind works and the subscription! You've helped get me a step closer to making this a sustainable career for me :) So, when you first start the gimbal and it hasn't be calibrated, it might be at an angle, but after calibration it should revert to your last calibrated state. It's interesting that it's happening each time you're turning it on which sounds like maybe further troubleshooting by calibrating again might help, a firmware update might be needed, or worst case there's an issue with the gimbal itself. Hope that helps!

Yep, the bracket definitely leaves that part of a phone open for connecting peripherals. However, looking at that mic depending on how you're mounting it and also the length and weight of the cable might interfere with the gimbal functions.

Hi there! So... in the DJI Mimo app you can go to Album at the bottom, tap on the video or image and then select share to other apps. However, you can save a step if you use Google Photos to back up the Mimo app content in the settings (that's if you use Google Photos) and then you'll be able to see everything you capture there instead.

@HowToDoItTech2 жыл бұрын
Hi. It could be if you're accidentally triggering the tracking. I cover that in this section of the video about ActiveTrack: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iauZimaBiLV8lck Hope that helps! But if it's just moving after calibration, that's a more serious issue to do with the hardware.
@jakewaldman62432 жыл бұрын
@@HowToDoItTech thank you! I didn’t see how to disable active track. Do you know how?
@HowToDoItTech2 жыл бұрын
No problem! There are two ways to activate it. Via the trigger (you'll see a green box appear around the subject which you can dismiss by tapping the little X or pressing the trigger again). Or by drawing a box around the subject on the screen of the phone. Again, you should be able to dismiss it with the little X or the trigger. Hope that helps :)

I am looking to maybe buying this gimbal. I'm a complete novice in regards to anything and everything pertaining to shooting videos and/or gimbals. I was hit by someone texting and driving. I had 3 back surgeries in under 6 weeks plus several other surgeries. I have been placed on permanent disability....and am looking for something to fill all of the empty time as wells as something to get me out and about since I'm in need to force myself to try and move. Along with trying to find something to take my focus off the 24/7 pain....sorry, I digress. With all of the built in guides and templates (for the lack of knowing how else to describe it) this gimbal appears to have been made for someone just like me. Because of being on a very limited income, I can't afford to get a new and fancy flagship phone. I currently have an older phone but my understanding is, in it's day, it was known for having a really good camera and made good videos. It's the LG V20 and has Android 8.0. It's the 8.0 that I'm wondering about... Do you know if this gimbal and app will work with my phone? Thank you in advance for your time and any help you are able to provide. (Glad I found this video and subscribed to your channel today)
@HowToDoItTech2 жыл бұрын
Hi. I'm very sorry to hear about your injuries and I hope that your new found hobby gives you a creative outlet to help. I double-checked the specification of the phone and the gimbal and the device will comfortably take a phone up to 67-84 mm in width. Your phone is 78.1mm in width. The only remaining question is the app. It requires Android 7.0 or above and your phone starts with Android 7.0 and can be upgraded to 9.0 so you should be fine. Thank you very much for subscribing!
