Zero instructions is right. I had to learn the hard way. And they should pay us for the time we take to learn this stuff. The app is not very good and I made some big mistakes I had to fix, using up my own gas, but they certainly don't care.

Thanks for this info. I started my first block of dashes last night and what people are saying about no help from Door Dash is totally correct. I was told to use the, "VIP Support Line", if I was ever in need of some help. Well, the app kept going down last night, freezing up, throwing away the first order I was on and then trying to get me to accept a different one. It was maddening. You're help on this video brings a lot of their app into perspective. Well done! Kudos for your efforts to help all of us dashers out here trying to make a living without too much hassle.

A BIG HEADS UP... when you start too..because I made this mistake...sometimes ANOTHER ORDER FOR PICKUP FOR SOMEBODY ELSE will sneak into your DoorDash app. while you are driving away from your original pickup and then the app DOES NOT APPROPRIATELY NOTIFY YOU. All of a sudden google maps will just direct you to a different location THAN the first person you elected to deliver for. Which I didn't get why the app was trying to deviate from my first delivery address. Just pay close attention to your pickup customer names and double check.

This was awesome. I just signed up. The sign up process could be A LOT more thorough as far as instruction/guidance goes. Do I really have to wait to receive the card/orientation...etc? My son signed up and said he was able to start the same day? I signed up on the DoorDash.com site and entered by bank account info, then saw the Track Now button so I could track when the Red card would come but that was it. No email with instructions or next steps...Nothing. I even went to the HELP section and not much info there either. This was the first video of yours I've seen and will continue on to the next. They need to hire you as their Marketing Content liaison. Geezzzz Thanks!!

that is so they arent sending out kits to people who sign up and then never drive... it happens. some people think its a good idea to sign up then never actually drive...ive had friends do this not only with doordash but uber/lyft as well...so i can see why they wanna save the money of shipping things out to people with no proof they will use it etc...

Excellent videos. Doordash has a lot of quirks, I didn't understand till my friend showed me your videos. Really got me over the hump to where I think I could make this work. Anybody know how you can exclude zip codes or cities you don't want to deliver to. I think it is ridiculous you don't get to know where you are going to go, until you get the order on board.

I see a lot of people struggling with the concept of the "red card". The red card is a COMPANY DEBIT CARD that you use to pay for orders that are not "already paid", its the companies money not yours. The activation kit comes with hand sanitizer, a red facemask with logo, a hot bag, and the "red card". I would suggest to not worry about the red card, you do not need it to start dashing. You can start immediately doing deliveries without the red card. Honestly I suggest not ever even activating it. Depending on where you operate at, it may not even benefit you to pick up orders that are not already paid for, as there isn't a pay difference. The orders some times are larger and can provide better tips, but like I said this is all based on where you're operating at, and the hassle of the entire process is not worth it at all, it really isn't. The problem is that the dumb popup will be on your screen forever, every time you open the app. As for using the app yes I agree the learning curve was a bit steep at first, but after you use it for awhile you'll notice its actually easier to use than some of the similar rideshare delivery apps. Other than that this tutorial was very welcomed as they did a slapstick job at a training you.

DD should make it visible for all full payments to be seen by driver. A mandatory tip and set amount higher than one now should be in place for drivers. Dashers are people and need to earn and live as well as the customer. Making every single order attractive to the dasher assures all orders are delivered.

Will DD being supplying dashers with bigger and better bags? Do we get a pizza bag from DD? What if a dasher has to pickup 2 large pizzas? How do they stay warm? Can a dasher buy their own and submit the receipt to DD for reimbursement? A dasher may need multiple pizza bags as well. Please share my questions with DD since you have spoken with President Payne there. This might help DD to think about helping the drivers more. Thanks for all the answers.

I have just started dashing at a VERY part time basis. I deliver 30+ hours a week with Eatstreet. I've gotta tell you, the DD app is much more confusing than ES's. Maybe with time, it will become less so. Plus, how can you mull over an order when one pops up when you're driving? I will try to have a glance and if I can't figure out if it's a good order (and the pay is on the low side), I'll just let the timer run out instead of rejecting it. Also, in my market, DD doesn't seem quite as good as ES (I am not an ES representative!). With ES, I know I will make at least $8.50 an hour (assuming I will reach at least 30 hours that week). Tips are hit and miss and I don't know what they will be until after I complete the delivery. Sometimes they are $0 or $1 or some other low amount compared to the actual delivery miles and time. Other times they will be quite generous with and $8, $9, or $10 tip and occasionally more than that. A majority of tips seem to fall in that $4-$6 range. What I don't like about ES is that we are not usually allowed to reject an order. I can't tell you how many times I've driven ONE coffee or ONE burger or something miles and miles and then getting a one or two dollar tip (or $0!!!). Most customers seem to tip based on the dollar amount of the food they've ordered, not the miles and time the driver is using to get that food to them. I guess that's where that guaranteed base pay comes in. ES pays every two weeks, but I do have the option of taking out pay early if I want to pay a small fee to do so. I usually do as bills and grocery and gas are always needed to be paid for.

The problem with Door Dash is not the Drivers. It use to be the low payments to delivery orders to People that live in very large apartments where the GPS cannot always find the home, and not be paid mileage. Also, the restaurants forget that Drivers are a Public Servant as well and Drivers are making the restaurants money as the Drivers make their money. If Drivers have to use the facilities to wash their hands or the restroom because Drivers are staying healthy and hydrated. That is what Drivers supposed to be supported to do from the restaurants. If the Employers are using the restrooms and their Employees is using the restrooms to stay healthy. The COVID is not affecting that normal body reaction for Drivers to do the same natural functions. Some People are just petty, unclean, and disrespectful. They will find any excuse to not respect other Public Servants but want People to support their restaurants. Like this wise Woman stated some FACTS that were totally true. When People lived among one another and needed to borrow sugar, milk, eggs, or needed a baby sitter. The People were very kind to one another. The root of evil came floating in. These People pockets started getting fat and the money have made these People annoying, disrespctful, conniving, and very immature. These People need to check themselves. Many of them do not like to say excuse me, thank you, or enjoy your day. They are getting in the way, trying to make rest times unpleasant, and behaving like they are so hardcore when they have an audience, very Cowardly actions.

I'm not able to see where the customer lives before i accept the order. Is three something I'm missing or do they not do that anymore? I've been signed up for over a week, but unable to Dash. After logging in to the app, I get a message, Thank You for signing up, our schedules are currently full. There's no drop down scheduling option or anything. I've contacted support, and they've been no help. I get updates throughout the day, your area is busy, login and get 1-2 dollars more per delivery. I login, same friggin message, "Thanks for signing up, but the schedule is full in your area." Why the hell send me an alert then???

How can I get up to date info on the Boston MA metro west area as far as if the driver demand is low and the order rate is high? I guess a dasher demand can always be high in a very rural country setting with very little business around.

When you say in a location you did not sign up for does this mean home town where your address is? I plan on dashing in a few towns away from where I live. So do I need to put that info in when I sign up? List the towns or areas where I want to dash in, the parts of the map that has the towns in it which I desire to dash in?

Sometimes they close bag with stickers sometimes not. I refuse to break the seal to check items in Covid 19 but my rating tanked to 2.50 today since food was missing yesterday during a delivery, its my 4th day, I can't get help with it so it's not consistent which is unfair
