I'm going to show you how to use the embellish knit automatic spool loom, and if you want to buy one I'll put a link in the description below. The automatic spool loom allows you to create cords for projects. It does a pretty good job and it's very fast in comparison to a spool loom. To use the embellish knit you feed the yarn through the guide and down the center hole, on the other side you'll clip the weight, this part is necessary for the yarn to feed properly through.
Then you turn the handle allowing the first hook to grab the yarn, then you lift the yarn behind the second needle and allow it to be hooked onto the 3rd hook.
The latch on each hook always needs to be in the open or down position at this point, so if it's not, you'll have to open it, but once you get it going it should be automatic.
Then skip the fourth hook and allow the first hook to catch the loop again.
From this point continue turning the handle allowing the yarn to catch on every hook.
Getting this going is a little tricky, not difficult, it just takes some patience. You may need to tug slightly on the yarn that is coming out from underneath just slightly as you turn the handle, you want to make sure that as the hook raises to grab another loop of yarn that the previous loop slides off the peg. If you have a heavy weight yarn this won't work very well or at all. But with lighter weight yarns you can really get this thing going pretty fast, you just have to make sure the hook lets go of the loop before it grabs another one. You may have to give it a tug once in a while so it doesn't bunch up at the top of the tube. The only other thing you want to make sure is that there is no tension on the yarn that is being fed into the loom and that the weight is hanging freely so it can feed the yarn down the tube. Once you're done you just cut the yarn and let it finish weaving the handle. Then take a yarn needle and secure each loop so it doesn't come untangled just like you would on the normal spool loom.

Finally got it going. Don't use the yarn they send - too thick. I use it with crochet cotton thread to make handles for my string bags. I used to hate making 60 in of I cord - took me over an hour. With this little machine, less than 5 min. Very clear video. Wish I'd watched it before I started playing with the loom.

I finally got one in the mail today and just tried it out. I first made a tangled mess with some yarn I thought was the same the pkg came with. I had to cut it all out. I rewatched your video and used the sample yarn and it performed flawlessly. This will come in handy making rugs and such. Thank you.

thank you. Your video was far better than others i watched, they were all like part 1 & 2 they really overcomplicate & repeat themselves. I think people forget that its a video & that the viewer can hit pause, rewind & even rewatch as you mentioned. So everytime someone in a video goes "let me show you that again...& one more time..." I want to scream. SO THANK YOU. I got these machines for my nieces they have gotten quite creative with the rubber band looms & i wanted to expand their "looming". I'll include you video with them & I know they'll be good to go. Do you have any videos on ideas for what to do with these cords once made? Thanks for quick easy instructions. Lisa, Delaware(USA)

Your video is excellent. I could not grasp the procedure relying on the the printed instructions that came with the packaging. You truly helped me out. I can't use my 4 Medium weight wool I purchased for the project. The hooks randomly catch and split the yarn strands causing it to bunch up. It works fine when using the sample yarn provided so apparently it is not defective.

I've used embroidery floss, cotton warp thread, sport (#3) yarn, and #4 yarn. #4 doesn't always work; it can get stuck and not feed properly. The others all worked fine but keep in mind, if the thread/yarn is thin the cord will be too.

Works great on cheap yarn ,like acrylic. Isn't going to work on my silk and wool blend. The weight spins and twists until the yarn breaks, and the hooks are getting full of static, so they don't open and close when they should. Very frustrated since none of the ideas I have been working on are going to work.About ready to send it flying across the front yard, but taking a break instead.

+LindieLee google giants knits. you can easily use this size icord on a size 15-17 set of needles to make everything from thick afghans to rugs and pillows and even quick knit chunky hats. I knit larger i-cor with heavier yarn on double pointed needles but for about sport weight or lighter tightly spun yarn this machine is great at hipping out tons of icord. You just have to keep moving the weight up the icord so that it doesn't drag on the ground or a table while you're cranking away. I use a russian join on my yarn so I can continue uninterrupted with the same color. Good luck to you and I hope you find lots of projects for your icord :)

Can anyone tell me how thick a cord this makes? I am using Lily Sugars n' Cream Cotton yarn, and was thinking I could use this rather than chain crocheting, with my arthritis, for cord.
@MC-kj8uy
@MC-kj8uy 3 жыл бұрын
It has 4 needles on it; the thickness of the cord will depend on what yarn/thread you use. Honestly though - I'm not sure it will work with Sugar & Cream; knitting machines (which is what this is) don't tend to like worsted weight cotton. I have used embroidery floss, #10 crochet cotton, and cotton warp thread without any trouble (just as a test); they all worked fine and I think maybe #3 cotton yarn would work too. Sugar & Cream is a 4; that's borderline for this machine but the bigger problem is, cotton isn't slippery; thinner cottons don't have to be slippery but thicker ones, like Sugar & Cream, will have problems. If you get one of these you can try a #4 with extra weights on the bottom, or try a thinner yarn.

A & G Productions You can use it as shoe laces, freehand decoration on fabrics (forming designs which you can then stitch on the fabric), curtain holders, cord for sports pants and hoodies. You can crochet or knit with it, to make bags, baskets. You can weave baskets. You can braid three or four of these together to make a belt, or bag handles, or bracelets.

Rio DJeNIRO Sure you could make rugs, but from what people say it only works with medium-thin yarn, so I'd first braid three cords together to make a bigger cord before using it for a rug, otherwise it would take forever.

Maybe! Mine has had no trouble with Caron's Simply Soft, which is kind of light for a 4, but it struggles with some of the thicker/regular size 4s. I did just read a suggestion on another site to add extra weights for size 4 yarns so I'm going to try that.
