This is actually the same Bible that I use, and I love it. I also got mine around 2015, and then I had it rebound in dark green cowhide a year or two later. That was my introduction to the world of premium Bibles, and so far my only entrant in that world. By God's providence, it's almost exactly what I would have chosen. Nice wide margins, good paper (as you pointed out), not too hefty, good concordance, decent maps. I agree with your recommendation to get a Bible made well enough to last, but the TruTone version of this is an excellent rebind candidate. (They're expensive, but a good rebind could easily last a lifetime.) My wife and I study together in the evenings, picking one book at a time and reading a commentary or two on that book to aid in our study. That's been very fruitful for us, and, again like you, when I flip through my Bible I can see which books we've studied that closely.

I have an Nasb scr that has wide margins. I’m not big into writing in books in general but I’m thinking about writing (in pencil) in this. Thank you for the video

I totally understand not writing in your bible. However, keep in mind, pencil will fade pretty drastically over time. Maybe led is different these days, but I lost some great notes from my seminary bible throughout the years while using it. I know it can be expensive, but buying two bibles with one you plan to use for writing in is an option. I currently add sermon thoughts in a wide margin that I’m saving just to pass to my son.

@@trentgilliam5192 Great points Trent. I agree with you and highly recommend a pen as the best option for writing in our Bibles- or any book for that matter

I’ve recently found transparent sticky notes. They are great for adding notes without adding thickness. You do need to use a ballpoint or permanent pen.

That bible held up pretty well for seven years of use

It has held up pretty good for imitation leather, but now the outside cover sheds like dandruff, haha! I plan to rebind it in the near future. I'm sure I'll post a video once that happens

I use Gel pens do you think they will damage my Bible pages?
@betterbiblereading2 жыл бұрын
Hi Shane. I would recommend not using gel pens just to stay safe. But, every Bible has different page thicknesses. If you do want to try gel pens, take the Bible you plan to use them in, and turn to one of the blank pages at the front or back of the Bible and test out the pen to see if it bleeds through or messes up the page.
