After watching this, I have no idea how the FM Synth works or how to actually use it, but I know all the knobs and buttons I can twiddle with.

I absolutely 100% with all my heart LOVE the grassy-moss & leaf nature backdrop. That one single out-of-focus tree leaf in the foreground makes me so happy for some reason.
@BradTennant4 жыл бұрын
Haha thanks! I really liked this setup. I just wish the moss wasn’t so damn messy!
@BBAACKE4 жыл бұрын
Brad Tennant Sure it might be messy, but damn if it isn’t satisfying.
@BBAACKE4 жыл бұрын
Brad Tennant I was thinking about the messy downfall of that setup, I bet if you got a clear matte finish spray paint & coated it once or twice it would keep from any debris flaking off & since it’s matte you couldn’t tell
@BradTennant4 жыл бұрын
Good idea! I might have to revisit the moss with some spray stuff. I bet that would help a lot!

That kaleidoscopic intro sequence will haunt my dreams. Do you think these techniques will work on the digitone? edit: never mind, It doesn't seem like you know what the parameters on the OP-1 correlate to so that probably makes it hard to translate. Still interesting that you can get these sounds with an FM engine.
@BradTennant5 жыл бұрын
Haha that is exactly what I was going for! I’ve never messed with a digitone but I assume it might work if there are some similar features. Can’t make any promises though.
@TaunCM5 жыл бұрын
While I thought this would clarify some things for me in the FM synth, I feel like it just made me more unsure of the parameters. The video would be good, but having a deeper understanding would help explain this better. Not a tutorial, more of a "Here's some cool OP1 sounds," video.
@BradTennant5 жыл бұрын
Sorry I didn’t get technical enough. I learn by experimenting so I guess that’s my teaching technique too.

I have the misery to believe that this synth is worth at this price which and very expensive! $,$$$,00 !
@BradTennant4 жыл бұрын
I bought my op-1 before the price hike but it was still pretty expensive. While I hear you that it sounds “blip blip blip” out of the box, if you know what you’re doing with it, it can sound great. That being said, despite the sounds, the machine has brought out way more creativity from me than any traditional DAW has so id say it was worth it. For me anyway.

@@ottox1437 I was a little skeptical of the OP-Z at first but I'm seeing some crazy cool things from people. And they keep expanding the functionality. The only thing that seems weird to me is the keybed layout. I'd like to get my hands on one and try it out though.

ff = filter follow i think

it seems like you dont know how the FM synth works..... not that thats bad, but it takes 2 seconds to look it up.
@BradTennant5 жыл бұрын
I know how to make it sound the way I want and that's what the video is intended to show. I don't have a technical understanding of each function, but as I said, I can make it work for me.
@antoniomarcello98725 жыл бұрын
@@BradTennant yeah again not a bad thing at all! buuuuuut if youre going to make a tutorial.......... you should probably give the correct information on how it works.
@BradTennant5 жыл бұрын
@@antoniomarcello9872It's okay if you didn't find the video useful. Other people have. If you need a more technical overview of the FM synth I've heard that it only takes 2 minutes to look up.
@antoniomarcello98725 жыл бұрын
@@BradTennant Thats really funny! I genuinely did find the video useful. My point was, again its not a tutorial unless you are teaching something that provides special, often individual instruction. I am fully aware of how the FM synth works in the OP-1. would you like me to give YOU a tutorial? Cheers mate!
@BradTennant5 жыл бұрын
@@antoniomarcello9872 Yes, I would like you to give me a tutorial! That would actually be great!
