I gave up selling soap when covid struck but there were so many selling as in local fayres and markets that have no idea on the rules and regulations, I do have to mention it’s a minefield so in some ways understandable. We need more like you that are willing to tell people what’s involved and if they choose to move forward what’s the correct way to go xxxxx

As someone who is allergic to A LOT of things, some quite random like Elastoplast and iodine I always check additives and tend not to buy perfumed soap or beauty bars as one company calls them. Your website has all the information I need to make a good choice, but I am using the Aleppo soap and love how it makes my skin feel. This is a good behind the scenes look at all the work that goes into just registering a product so you can sell/give it before you even get to adding it to your website! It does make me appreciate a good quality product that little bit more.

The panic on your face in the thumbnail made me think that this was another Halloween soap video. It is the Scare season after all. 😂 Here in the US, we've had some changes in regs in the last couple years with fragrances and this year and next we have reg changes in the cosmetic realm, too. It's mostly having to do with record retention and keeping customers and federal regulatory agencies apprised of any adverse events or recalls of product. I imagine what we have to do from now on is similar to what European makers have to do already, but, depending on the state, we makers in the States probably still have less paperwork to do than Europeans. Some states have more regulations than others, though, which can complicate sales from one state, region, county or city from another, and that's not even counting changes in tax rates😢.

This may help someone…when uploading a csv file with ranges, you still need to put exact amount in if you’re using essential oils. 😉

There's no response at all, you can start to sell once you have registered your product, as long as you have a cosmetic safety assessment for each product

Yes you do, any sale in the UK. Is on the market, you need a Cosmetic Product Safety report and you need to list on the portal, no matter what methos you're using to sell your products

You don't need to contact them. When you get to the part that says does your product contain anything the NPIS need to know about it will open up another section for you to complete.

Blimey Lisa! Scare us with that thumbnail! I thought you’d hit some terrible bureaucratic disaster! So relieved it wasn’t! I watched the whole way through… with no need for supporting sustenance until the 1hr mark! Chocolate milk is perfect for this time of day! Was so much more enjoyable when I realised you weren’t being put through the wringer with further legislation! I love using CSV files as they are so much quicker than manually keying the information in most things! I’m sure I have said I don’t make soap so I have used neither the portal nor the soap maker software you reference, but I suspect the experience is comparable. A csv file is a csv file after all! I always find it’s the invisible characters that cause me a problem. My problems always seem to be… ⚀ Invisible spaces at beginning (or end) of header data row ⚁ Empty data rows at end of file ⚂ Invisible spaces at the end of a data row ( especially where last variable is numeric or Boolean - y/n type) ⚃ Missing file trailer record where required Roll the dice every single time! Wonder what you find your error of choice is! Can you tell you hit something I know a little about 🤣 I really enjoyed this video… thank you!
