Welcome to Wi-Fi Direct! With Wi-Fi Direct, you can connect your computer, smartphone, or tablet directly to a printer wirelessly without connecting to an existing wireless
Before using Wi-FI Direct, make sure that press the Wireless" and Resume" buttons Wi-FI Direct icon appears on the control panel display. If you don't see this icon, press the wireless and resume buttons for 3 seconds to turn on Wi-Fi Direct.
How to print using Wi-Fi Direct

1. On your computer or mobile device, select the Wi-Fi Direct name for the printer ("DIRECT-64HP DeskJet 2700 series / as printed on the paper") from the list of available wireless networks, and then enter the Wi-Fi Direct password (numbers as printed on the paper"), when prompted.
2. Open a photo or document from a print-enabled application, and then select the "Print" option.
3. After printing has finished, reconnect your computer or mobile device to your normal wireles network

While the mobile device is connected using Wi-FI Direct, the mobile device maintains its current network and Internet connections while printing.

If 5 connections have already been established, the " icon and the Wi-Fi Direct" icon on the display will blink rapidly three seconds when the next device attempts but fails to connect To view and customize Wi-Fi Direct settings, use the home page for the printer (the embedded web server or EWS). After you connect to your printer, open a web browser and type 192.168.223.1 in the address box. Click the Network tab, and then cdlick Status in the Wi-Fi Direct section. To use many of the printer's features, you might need HP software installed on your computer or mobile device. For more information, visit 123.hp.com.

Printing is ok but scanning is a problem because hp smart cannot detect the wifi direct printer without wifi. Do you have a method to scan using wifi direct? I only know hp smart
