Oh, I haven't seen a clip for kalimba yet. If it's for the pickup, putting it on is probably optional, me too, I dont want to stick the pick up on permanently haha

i do use pickup on my violin during events. 🥰 and yes, its super sensitive. sometimes even captures my breathing sound when am too nervous, which my bandmates recognize. 😂😂😅

Hi, I just got my Adeline pick up and an iRig. However, when I am recording there's a hissing/static sound. I already used Audacity to have it removed but there is still that annoying sound. Can you please help me how to fix it? Thank you :)

Hi! You may do some troubleshooting to see where’s that hissing sound comes from. Do you have different cables? It could be there, or maybe your phone isnt connected properly with the cable. Btw, what is Adeline pick up? Is it piezo?

@@erickjmedina Oh I see. I will look into that sir. Unfortunately, I do not have spare cables yet. However, there’s no hissing sound when I plug it directly in an amp. I reckon there’s something wrong w the iRig I bought. Adeline is the brand name of the piezo. Btw, thanks for the advice!

Oh I also did some experiment in Audacity last night. I just have to crank up the noise reduction to max and adjust a wee bit of the sensitivity to remove the hissing sound. Unexpectedly it works 😅 I still prefer the sound quality of using a mic compared to a piezo tho

Hi! You really need a speaker if you want to make it louder, a guitar amplifier will do. i’m not sure if there’s another way to use the pick up for louder sound without an amplifying device- speaker.

Hi Mix, ndi ko prefer mag pickup, kc ideal tlaga sya for live session, pero kung mag pickup ako sa recording mag looping music ako. Ang prefer kong mic ay yung meron ako now, Blue Yeti condenser microphone. Yan recording mic ko, tpos kalimba and computer lng. 💛😊

@@MicMix hi Mix! Yung number 1 tip dito. Pag gnon gamit mo wla syang magiging unnecessary noise kasi diretso sya sa iRig tpos ipprocess ng phone ang sound.. pag yung number 2, magastos kc msyado gnon dn yung number 3 na tip

@@OksOksanium it wont amplify the sound. The hardware will connect to your phone for recording. In the process, you will have to adjust the volume in the post production. I think you’re looking for a hardware for live set up, a soundcard will do the job

Is there specialized pickups for kalimba? or can we use acoustic guitar passive pickups?

It’s possible to use passive pickups, but most of the installed pickups I saw with kalimba is the piezo one. I think that’s because piezo is sensitive to pressure, and that’s the best pickup for kalimba I think. There is no specialized pickup for kalimba except the April Yang Dual kalimba because it is built-in with other electronics aside from the pickup itself. My guitar’s pickup is also piezo, i like it

Yes po iba iba, ang kaibahan ay yung sa luob po nyan.. sa guitar what we need ay yung 6.3 kasi mono lang nmn. Pero, naiinsert po ang 6.55. Pero para po ndi msyado complicated, just look for guitar jack, at yun dn ang need na jack for kalimba. 😀

That is not the correct way to put the pickup, it is not a microphone and it doesnt work like... it is a piezoelectric, you have to put it at the end of kalimba

And of course I tried the way you mentioned here. It doesnt work well. What works best is to either attach it on bottom or top (wider surface) of kalimba. If how you describe here is the correct way or the effective way, we should have seen many kalimba players do it that way 😅

Yeah, effective way. I mean it catchs vibrations and if you try getting from wood maybe would be better
