After 15 months Brian I’ve finally joined the club. Picked up GTLS this afternoon. Sweet!

I had not seen this before corresponding with you earlier - it works fine. Actually, it IS in the manual on page 6-81 - I had missed it as well. It also mentions that you can temporarily pause the speed limit function. Thanks for the video Cheers, Ron

Cheers Ron i will put a note in the description regarding where to find in the manual.

I’ve probably seen your car around.

Hello Brian, The EV6 speed limit sign system helps a little, but suggest the need to get the software boys at Kia to implement the system as on the wife's Honda Jazz " Intelligent Speed Limiter". The beauty of the "ISL" is the car automatically adjusts to the last speed limit road sign the car window screen camera picked up (if enabled). This is essential for the Bedford (UK) area, as we are getting new average speed cameras every other week. Some at 20mph, and 30mph without much notice. How many times have you driven down a road not knowing the speed limit has changed from 30mph to 20mph and your'e chatting to a passenger etc?

I noticed something very interesting on your phone screen during this trip. Brian, could you please post the archive file for the entire trip? (Data Recording - find that trip, then press and hold - Export as BRC)
@@evodessey Thank you. The 12v battery was continuously discharged during the entire 6-minutes trip, then was charged again at idle. The 12v battery was full (98% SOC), so it helped the DC-DC converter (LDC). Such strategy is not too healthy for the 12v battery...

@@EV_OBD That video was recorded on my knackered 12v so it’s probably not behaving like a normal one.

Brian i think you can link it to the cruise control so it reads the signs ans keeps to the limit with cruise running. i know this is a function on the IONIC 5 usefull if driving abroad.
@evodessey Жыл бұрын
Cheers Mark I’m aware of that . I’ve done videos on that a good while back but the speed limiter is a separate function i’ve not covered before. Someone pointed out in the comments it’s called Manual Speed Limit Assist (MSLA) so that’s why i couldn’t find it.

@@evodessey yeah its not clear in the manual
@tripswithgriff Жыл бұрын
Handy video - thanks. So just to be clear - does it automatically change the speed limiter for you as you move into different speed limits, or does it just indicate to you that the limit could be changed?
@evodessey Жыл бұрын
It just beeps when the speed limit changes and you have to manually intervene with the up or down speed buttons. You also see a green up or down indicator on the cluster and HUD.

Hi Brian, what OBD App is running there on your phone? Do you know if this app or custom PID files allow to read out total energy charged separated by AC & DC charging? Hyundai/Kia Torque PIDs I saw so far only have a total charged/discharged. Thanks
@evodessey Жыл бұрын
It’s just Carscanner OBD (paid version) for Android. I think you may be able to do custom PIDS but i’ve never tried. I’ve no idea about splitting out total energy charged split out by AC or DC sorry. Alan Brown KZbin would probably know about that.
@EV_OBD Жыл бұрын
Yes, Car Scanner ELM OBD2 shows separate AC and DC counters. Unfortunately cumulative counters are reset to 0 during BMS software update.

With regard to the manual, I have a GV60 and the manual is absolutely dreadful. Obvious key words you would expect to find just aren’t there. And God only knows who they got to translate it to English.
@evodessey Жыл бұрын
The early EV6 manual was also like that. The Ioniq 5 manual was much better for some reason. It’s a shame because the GV60 is such a nice car which you pay a premium for over the EV6. I would have expected better.
