Maryna - I watched your latest and greatest "How to use the Long Tail cast on as a provisional,etc. Well I went net to a knitter who was showing "How To make a tubler cast on. There were sooo many steps. Obviously they were not aware of your lastest Gem. Thank you

Thank you, Mae! Knitting is an amazing craft. We can often get the same results by using deferent approaches. Some of those approaches are easier than others. I am glad that the one described in this tutorial is not too complicated. Happy knitting, my friend!

Maryna, you are a knitting genius! What a simple and elegant method. I’m hopeless with a crochet hook, so just avoided patterns requiring a pc. Never again. THANK YOU for this!❤❤❤

Awesome, thank you!!! I also tried this by knitting in the round with the magic loop. I can't figure it out because where do I start picking up the stitches? at the tail? or do you perhaps have a tutorial for that?
@10rowsadayАй бұрын
Hi Mirjam. Because the stitches are sitting on a piece of thin yarn in a contrasting colour, they are clearly visible whether we work flat or in the round. You can start to pick them up at either of the tails. Because the fabric is worked in the round, no matter whether you pick up stitches from right to left or from left to right, you won't need to transfer the stitches to a different needle just to get ready to work the first round. Happy knitting, my friend!

In what situations would you use this type of cast on?
@10rowsadayАй бұрын
When we know that we will need to pick up stitches from the cast on edge at some point as we work on the project. It could be an underarm of a sweater, or the bottom of a double-layered hat, or any other situation when the pattern tells us to use a provisional cast on. Happy knitting!
