Your video was very informative as I did know where to begin with my breast pump. I received mine from a friend and all the parts made it confusing as to where to begin and what new pieces do I need to purchase. Thank you for taking the time to go over everything in detail. I appreciate it!

I had a baby almost 10 years ago. My insurance covered the whole kit including the big bag and cooler. The hospital had it in stock. I hope I can get it again.

The new ones are a tiny bit different but these instructions still all apply. Mine came with 24 mm and 27 mm shields. I didn't realize that the yellow part mattered which way it was turned. I'll have to pay attention to that in the future.

Should I also be boiling/sterilizing the white membrane and yellow valve thingies? Thank you for this video
@MyGreenNest6 жыл бұрын
Yes you can boil all of the pieces and then toss in the dishwasher or handwash after it's all been sterilized. :)

This may be a stupid question but I have the massive bag that comes with the freezer bag that’s similar to the one that your pump is in. Can I take my pump out and put it in the small bag to make it more portable or do I have to keep it in the large bag?
@MyGreenNest3 жыл бұрын
I think you can do whatever works best for you. Be a little careful that your pump is protected in case you drop it or bump it. Maybe wrap a t-shirt around it and put it in your smaller bag. I’m personally not a fan of massive bags myself so I get that!

Thank you sooo much for this extremely helpful video! First time mom here and I was sooo lost just looking at this pump when I received it 😂 question, do I need to sanitize and/or clean after every session?
@MyGreenNest4 жыл бұрын
Hi there! You can simply wash your parts and reuse. I hardly ever “sanitized them” lol. Hey check out my new medela video on medela pumping accessories too. I just released it a week or so ago and I think it will help you. Also congrats on being a new mom!!! ❤️

Are you able to buy that yellow part which is located in the middle? Not sure of what it’s called but it’s the yellow part in the middle and you can plug up one side for one side pump only? If so what’s the name for it to replace?
@MyGreenNest3 жыл бұрын
I’m not sure if I saw that on the website but you can look they always bring out new things. Your best bet is to call them and ask, maybe they can send one out to you for free.

After milk comes out of the fridge, how to warm up milk and to what temperature?
@MyGreenNest5 жыл бұрын
I always boil some water on the stove and pour it into a ceramic cup. After I do this then I put the frozen milk (preferably thawed out from the fridge) into the cup. I move it around every minute or so and pour a bit on my wrist to make sure it's not too cold and not too hot. I may have to make a video on this!

@MyGreenNest4 жыл бұрын
You can buy a battery attachment separate. I thought about doing that but I purchased a handheld manual pump that didn’t require batteries instead. It’s much easier to travel with. Look up my video the medela harmony pump.

Do you boil the bottles once a day? And then just clean with warm water and soap?
@MyGreenNest6 жыл бұрын
I used to boil the bottles back in the day. I don't mess with that anymore. Just once when I get them and every once in a great while. I usually just toss them in the dishwasher or wash them by hand. :)

Hello, this is great but I dont understand the part where that yellow has to face certain direction. Why? Inspecting it, it is jut a hole. Also other videos do not say this. Even the official medela canada site video has it face front kzbin.info/www/bejne/jpuqZYyNhrWWaMU Can you tell me why is it so important it faces certain direction?
@MyGreenNest4 жыл бұрын
P72010 Hi there, I saw this technique in another video and started using it myself when I was learning to pump. Maybe it’s unnecessary? I’ve always done it this way but wow maybe I’ve been wrong this whole time. 🤷🏻♀️
