What things do you do to manage your physical and spiritual health?
@izaacbuckley45204 жыл бұрын
Hi Mallory, another excellent video, well done. I love the layout and inter-connectivity of each quadrant of the medicine wheel, it really helps me to identify what specific areas of my own wellbeing I have forgotten to value. It appears my physical well-being is one of the areas I have most neglected. One major step towards improving this area for myself? Would be quitting smoking cigarettes. A sixteen year habit now behind me. ✨🌿 Miigwech !!

I practice Tai Chi, since it has helped me with stress management for several years. The harmony aspect of Taoism has led me to learn more of indigenous cultures, and I am so grateful that I have access now via internet to so many teachings. I'm living in unceded Beothuk territory, and I am reminded daily of their passing . I am learning Inuktitut as the nearest language, so much rich history. 🌲💧🔥🌬

I speak to Great Spirit all of the time - and I always give thanks for every tiny miracle I see. My favourite space of balance and groundedness is being in the outdoors - peaceful, sunny, soft breeze, walking down a treed path and sitting on a log. Talking to Great Spirit, meditating and asking for guidance. I look forward to learning more about the Medicine Wheel.

This helped so much in understanding the mental state. Cuz I was in a rage seeing to much violence surrounding me. I immediately started smudging with sacred cedar and it helped immensely. Also wearing all white and rinsing the head and body with cool water.

I am not Native North American and am from a major world religion but this is one of my favorite belief systems, I absolutely love it and yes I secretly get excited when I see anything Medicine wheel. It makes so much sense. I don't smudge or do some practices that are outside of my culture, nor do I think of spirit animals but I sure listen and appreciate the teachings.

I love everything about the Medicine Wheel and now I feel I know a little more about what it means. I try to do yoga and get in nature. I find when I don't do these things, my body, mind and spirit feels low. I have back pain so yoga and pilates/stretching help with that. I want to learn more about smudging. I have sage and burn it when I feel stressed.

Thanks so much for your explanation on each direction, for the plant medicine for each direction and the element for each direction. There are so many medicine wheels to learn from and being in the southern hemisphere flipping things around can be confusing sometimes for a beginner. I see it as universal and complete that I think -defiantly ....we all can find ourselves in it. I do take note that the medicine wheel is explained from the Red part so the Red part has its own uniqueness such as smudging, spirit animals and so on. It should be explained from the Red since they knew about all people before anyone else did. I still think that the Red part does an amazing job including everyone else but of course we are the same and different . The Red section had practices are foreign in my section of the medicine wheel and faith but I understand some of them (incense in church is used to raise prayers/ symbolize prayers) .
