Can this method be applied on a Roland XPS 30 keyboard??? I can't control the plugin as you described on that keyboard.

*Can you change PRESETS within the plugins with MIDI CC, like using a real rack effects unit?*
@studioonetutorials8 ай бұрын
Yes that's possible and there are several ways to accomplish this in GP. Some plug-ins allow you to select presets via Program Changes (rather than MIDI CCs) but the recommended approach is to load seperate instances of a plug-in and set up the preset switching in Gig Performer. You can basically use any MIDI message for that.

If you don't have a keyboard that has a "parts select" (like my akai mpk mini), is there a programmable way to achieve the same outcome?

Yes it is. Please create a new thread in the community forum.

how do you assign it to your keyboard?
@DavidJamesonPhD2 жыл бұрын
I don't quite understand the question - what are you trying to assign? The main purpose of this constrainer is to be a MIDI channel filter, allowing only one channel through (optionally mapping to another channel. An important use for it is with the MIDI File Player so that you can, for example, filter out everything coming from the Player on on channel 10 (say, typically drums) so as to route channel 10 to a separate perhaps specialized drum plugin.

@@DavidJamesonPhDI do have buttons but it's the same channel however different control number how can I do that with only one channel

I guess I'm not seeing the value added by this feature. I just use Midi-in blocks then uncheck channels that I don't want input from. And you can also map midi in to a different midi out channel --- and with midi in blocks you have the ability to configure min/max key ranges.

Imagine you have messages arriving on multiple channels simultaneously, perhaps from a MIDI file player or a keyboard that has multiple output channels (perhaps due to splits or layers) and you want to route items on different channels to different synth plugins. It can be more convenient to use a single MIDI In Block (or no MIDI In block if you're receiving from a MIDI file player) and use constrainers to redirect different channels to different synths, possibly rechannelizing them again if the synth only receives on one channel.

For me it just makes it more visible in the GP wiring. I also use this with the MiDI Media Player and different MIDI 'tracks' on different channels

Why you make it so hard to assign a specific button controller to a specific rack it's so easy do it instead of this mess

The point of the video is showcasing this plugin ;) What you need is addressed differently (and is possible, of course). Please create a new thread in the Gig Performer community forum.
