Yes, it can be used with any other skincare products you may have at home. Its primary function is to hydrate and nourish the skin, aiding in its natural regeneration process. Thank you very much! I also wish you and your family happy holidays! How do you celebrate them in Poland? Are you doing anything special, or are you staying calmly at home?

@@MelissaVanDijkOfficial Just staying home, my mother is very ill so I'm not able to go anywhere. I n Poland we celebrate Christmas Eve, lots of vegetarian food, Christmas Day is mostly for visiting family, again lots of food but not vegetarian this time. We tend to take it easy. How about you, how do you celebrate Christmas in your country?

@@onlyscience28 Oh no, 😿 I'm really sorry to hear about your mother. I hope she gets well! So, the celebration seems to be very similar to Luxembourg's, but not so much about vegetarian food. I mean, unless you are vegetarian, it's mostly meat with potatoes or some kind of fondue. But yes, there's a lot of food. And usually, it involves being at home with the family and taking it easy.

Hi Melissa! I love how informative and helpful your videos are. I was wondering if you could help me with my skin care routine and how I can improve it. I have acne prone, combination, sensitive skin. My current night skincare routine is first my anua oil cleanser, then inkey salicylic acid cleanser, next tretinoin and then I follow in with the red bean gel from beauty of Joseon. In the morning I sometimes don't wash my face or just wash with lukewarm water then applying the anua heartleaf toner. I feel like something isn't working in my routine and also, I don't exfoliate just because I'm scared I won't choose the right product for my skin type. Also, I keep waking up to new painful pimples and don't know how to treat it. Sorry for the long text, thank you for making these videos!!

Hey! 😊 Since when have you been following that routine? Also, do you really need to double cleanse with an oil cleanser? I would use these products like this: AM: Salicylic Acid Cleanser Maybe a hydrating toner Red Bean Water Gel Sunscreen (if exposed to the sun) PM: Mild Foaming Cleanser (like one from Cetaphil, The Ordinary, or Beauty of Joseon) Maybe a hydrating toner Tretinoin Red Bean Water Gel If you are using a Tretinoin Cream, I would use your gel-based moisturizer first. However, have you ever tried a Benzoyl Peroxide Cleanser instead of a Salicylic Acid Cleanser?

Thank you for your reply! I have been using this routine for about a month and a half. And I use the oil cleanser since I use makeup. What Benzoyl Peroxide Cleanser do you recommend?
@MelissaVanDijkOfficial
@MelissaVanDijkOfficial 7 ай бұрын
Okay, if the oil cleanser works for you, keep using it. So far, I haven't had much luck with oil cleansers. I prefer balm cleansers like The Ordinary Squalane or Beauty of Joseon Balm Cleansers. Panoxyl 4% or Differin 5% Benzoyl Peroxide Cleansers are great. Remember to use it instead of Salicylic Acid.

Mamaearth Rice Oil Free Face Moisturizer may work well, but as for Cetaphil Moisturizer Cream, it's specifically designed for dry skin, so it's not the best choice in this case.

I think it's not a good idea, and as far as I am aware, the safety of benzoyl peroxide during pregnancy is not fully established. This means I would not recommend using it. However, for a definitive answer, the best thing you can do is consult a local doctor you trust!

@@user-vi7hq3io5s Okay, I think you're using the wrong cleanser and moisturizer. I recommend using a mild foaming cleanser, such as Cetaphil's Daily Facial Cleanser, The Ordinary Glucoside Foaming Cleanser, or Beauty of Joseon Green Plum Cleanser, to effectively cleanse your face. Afterward, follow with your serum. If you experience dryness, consider using G&G Hyaluronic Acid Serum all over your face or opt for a gel/gel-to-cream moisturizer or oil-free lotion, such as those from Cetaphil. Apply it either all over your face or only on areas where you experience dryness. Additionally, you may want to explore a 4-5% Benzoyl Peroxide Cleanser or a Salicylic Acid Serum to address your acne.

Hey! 😊 I used to have a video about them on my channel, but I deleted it because I wasn't the biggest fan of their products. Their bubble/foam cleanser isn't too bad, but it can be pretty intense depending on what else you may be using. Overall, I prefer products from different brands. What is your skin type? What are your skin concerns? Do you currently use any skincare products? If so, what do you use?
@MelissaVanDijkOfficial
@MelissaVanDijkOfficial 8 ай бұрын
Be careful when watching such videos, as many of them are fake. People often use filters to smoothen the skin, usually apply too much product to demonstrate 'glowy' skin (which, depending on the treatment, can become very irritating), and most of them wear makeup. So, don't get fooled!

@MelissaVanDijkOfficial 8 ай бұрын
Okay, well, naturally glowing skin is somewhat elusive, and the effect will always be temporary. You could consider using a gentle scrub like Paula's Choice Unscrub, or Cetaphil's Extra Gentle Daily Scrub (although I'm not entirely sure if it's suitable for daily use), or a mild exfoliating acid cleanser like Differin Daily Hydrating Cleanser with PHA. These tend to give me a nice glow afterwards. Such products can be used more frequently than just once or twice per week, provided that the rest of your routine doesn't include potent treatments. After using such a product, follow up with hydration. This can be in the form of a hydrating toner, essence, serum, or, if really needed, a moisturizer. However, if your skin isn't dry, I wouldn't recommend using a rich moisturizer as you've mentioned. Instead, look for an oil-free moisturizer or lotion from brands like The Ordinary, CeraVe, or Cetaphil. If you want to explore options from COSRX or Beauty of Joseon, consider their Centella Gel or Red Bean Water Gel. Regarding sunscreen, I can recommend options like Good Molecules, COSRX Aloe Soothing, Isntree Hyaluronic Acid SPF, or Winona SPF 48.

Hey, Just stumbled upon your other video on Ordinary Peeling solution ... So thought should gave this one try as well. I have a question i am an indian with years of tanning im in my mid to late 20s (😢) and have brown complexion in general. But due to tanning i have like face which is shades darker than body and even the face is like some part dark and some are not.. Have dark circles due to incorrect sleep routine(but im fixing it since last month but circles are as it is) .. So i recently started my skincare after adviced by friend (i used soap on face and no i mean no skincare at all till now) and purchased good cleanser (Citaphil gentle) moisturizer (cetaphil moisturizer) sunscreen (lakme matte finish) and one active ( vitamin c20%) ... Now after 2 weeks im having pimples here and there mostly on left cheek and right forehead (weird combo) is it normal or should i change something in my routine( i never suffered with pimples before despite having no routine or washing face once a day only). I have combination skin.. Oily foreahd and nose and dry cheeks with open pores around nose area.

Hey! 😊 Stop using your Vitamin C product. Also, I think that you are using the wrong cleanser and moisturizer. I recommend choosing a mild hydrating foaming cleanser, and if needed, follow with a hydrating serum or oil-free moisturizer. As for your sun tan, you really need to stay out of the sun as much as you can; the tan will fade over time. You may have a chance with an Alpha Arbutin serum or cream - still, you need to avoid the sun as much as possible, as your skin will still try to produce melanin - especially if you stop using a brightening treatment. Use sunscreen during the day if you have prolonged sun exposure. As for your dark circles, maybe when using an Alpha Arbutin product, it will be able to lighten them as well (but don't use it on your eyelids); alternatively, just use concealer to brighten your dark circles.

@@MelissaVanDijkOfficial is the vitamin C the issue or is it because it's consistency? It's slightly on thicker side. im making below changes in my routine.. I've yet to incorporate these but I've bought all the products below About the moisturizer : I've bought COSRX low ph gentle morning cleanser and Also COSRX Salicylic acid cleanser for morning and evening For Moisturizer : Neutrogena Water gel, as it seems it's the best choice for my skin Sunscreen : Neutrogena Dry block SPF 50 I'm making above changes in routine PS - I'm using Ordinary's caffeine solution for dark circles and puffy eyes so far it had significantly helped and lightened the dark circles but now it just stopped 🤣

@MelissaVanDijkOfficial 8 ай бұрын
It's not an issue. I just think Alpha Arbutin might be more suitable. If the Caffeine Solution works for you, keep using it! So far, I haven't heard much feedback about how it performs for dark circles. People mainly like it because it helps depuff the eye contour. Yeah, just choose one cleanser for the morning and the same or the other one for the evening - it can be either the Good Morning or the SA cleanser. :) The rest of the routine looks good! :)
