Hi Tiff. I had to ask our top pear stringer and this is what she said. . >They need to make sure the cord it taught when about to release off the needle. The knot on the needle should have a pearl right up against it. When lifting the thumb lever it has to be one swift motion, not a quick flick. Also, they need to be careful to not try and help the knot off the needle, let the tool do the work.< I hope this is of some help. Thank you for watching. Mark N Tech

I am able to use the knotter fairly well, but I am having a lot of trouble getting the knots tight enough that the beads do not wiggle. Am I missing some trick or can I tighten the tool somehow?
