Thank you so much for the most "detailed" tutorial for knotting pearls I have watched! I love that you use several pearls with knots at each end, to increase durability. Some tutorials I've watched only go back through one pearl and that doesn't seem that it would make the necklace as strong. You are a born instructor. Hugs, M.D.

Great tutorial. I usually find that key steps in any how-to videos are “obscured by fingers” but this is really well set up and zooms in on tricky bits. Thanks!

I've been knotting pearls off and on for several years, usually only once or twice a year. Because I can be forgetful (I'm 76) I always check for a video to remind me of the beginning and ending using french wire. I have to say that this is the best video I've found (and I've watched a bunch!). It's just what I need to kick-start my memory when knotting pearls. Thank you so much.

The absolute best tutorial covering the professional method of stringing & knotting pearls or beads. Every detail is clearly explained as the demo shows each step in the process. No extra chit chat & no missing oversights, just straight to the point. All the essential information is provided, complete from start to finish. It also includes a brief overview of the parts to better understand how the pieces fit together. A comparison of various fresh water pearl types, a description of thread size in relation to diameter of the drilled center, selecting a clasp style, purpose of French wire & special adhesive to secure the end knots. I enjoyed every bit of this well planned presentation & I'll return to purchase supplies. Thank you for sharing your expert knowledge & passion for creating beautiful jewelry!

A friend from church came to me with a beautiful freshwater pearl necklace she got many years ago- the thread had broken and she knew I did custom beaded jewelry and repair. I'd never done a nice pearl necklace so was a little daunted. But your tutorial had exactly the information I needed! From what kind of thread (silk) and size to the exact logistics and mechanics of how to tie the knits in between. Thank you so much!!

Absolutely the best video I’ve come across. I have a question though about the silk thread, I noticed you didn’t stretch it. Is it best to stretch or no? I ask because the silk in the mala I made stretched and I don’t want that to happen with the pearl necklace. Oh by the way I did prestretch ad suggested.

The best tutorial video I have found for Pearl knotting with a single strand of silk. Very clear instructions and helps that it is so close up so you can see the detail of what you are doing. This technique with the tweezers gives consistent knots right close up to the pearls. I've just tried it to make a bracelet with great results! Easy to do once you get the hang of it. Great instructions for finishing the ends neatly and securely too. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and explaining everything so carefully!

Yes, pay close attention to the part where she explains about the tweezers sliding towards the pearl--I didn't pay attention at first and experienced some frustration with knots that didn't quite sit flush. Rewatched it and voilà! She explains it exactly, and I was able to finish the necklace with no other problems and end up with a very professional-looking string of pearls. Thank you!

Thanks for this, I was able to knot my very first necklace with ease using this technique, although the silk would not go through the french wire so I had to use wire guardians. I used size 5 silk, perhaps this was too thick?

Excellent. Except... I dont like using just one strand of silk. I thread the needle and pull two strands through. I always had trouble with my knotted Pearl's using only one strand. They would always break. Getting the needle back through the pearl with two strands is impossible. I improvise. The glue you use is the same glue I use. Best glue ever.

The absolute best tutorial on pearl knotting that I have ever seen. Thank you a thousand times. 2019 PS: I do think you should add that because you have to go through the first and last two pearls twice, that you may have to drill open their holes a bit. 2021 update: the French wire sometimes gets wonked up - bits of the silk show through. I "massage" the French wire back in place but it bothers me. Does this happen to you, too?

my pearls are 4-5mm with 0.7mm hole. I got a silk the 3mm like your but I couldn't even thread through the hole again like you did in 8:00. im guessing the 3mm is to big, so I will buy a 2mm thread. Also quick question. Can you do a review about what silk threads would be best for each pearl hole sizing and also French wire because I learned that the French wire also comes in different sizes.... I hate making mistakes but here's to learning hahah
