DUUUDE!!! OMG you totally cleared up my confusion on Vcarve vs Adv Vcarve! And you made it so darn simple to understand. The diagram illustrations you showed combined with your descriptions absolutely nailed it. How you explained things and then the close-up video of the machine actually doing the carves and then your titles on what part of the carve the machine was on was sooooo helpful. I can't thank you enough - Carbide3D should pay you to do instructional vids for them! ;-) I was pausing, rewatching, then correcting my project's tool paths as I watched. I'm going to rewatch again to make sure the concepts are burned in my tiny brain. New subscriber with notifications here!

You have some really great videos that I've found super helpful. I set depth of cut to material thickness when doing lettering signs. They carve well, but I am finding that I get a ton of "fuzzies" in the letters when cutting through oramask. This is hard to clean up and affects the painting process. Any thoughts on how to prevent this? Finishing pass?
@aetimberpine14 сағат бұрын
I typically use a toothbrush and also my fingers to rub away any fuzzies. If its a constant thing, I would consider replacing your bits. Since you're carving through oramask, make sure that its a downcut endmill and/or a sharp vbit.

On your prestained stock, how to you cleanup any leftover edge fuzzies without removing stain surface?
@aetimberpine8 ай бұрын
Usually a toothbrush helps get rid of those fuzzies. Also a Downcut endmill works really great. Lastly, sharp bits work best. So if you start seeing lots of fuzzies it may be time to replacing your tool.

Did the machine come back and clean the corners of the stripes where a little bit of stained wood was left or did you have to clean that up by hand?
@aetimberpine Жыл бұрын
Hey nokester2, yes it did. The vbit first carves the perimeter and then will come back and clean up the corners. It’s really cool to watch sometimes how it does that. Check out one of my latest shorts, I think it’s got advanced vcarve in the title.

Great video your flags look great. I was wondering if you have ever made a flag that needed to be tiled to be cut because it is longer than your cutting area. Jeff Peters

Does carbide prompt the tool change from the end mill to the vee set during advance vcarve or are those two separate processes altogether?

With the correct post processor selected it will prompt you. I go over that here. How to Get Tool Change Prompt In Carbide Motion | Beginner CNC Tips | Carbide Motion Beginner Tips kzbin.info/www/bejne/oWG5douGhdd6mpI

Wondering on advanced v carve , after your end mill pass is done and it asks you to insert the v bit, how do you zero out the Z on the v bit?
@aetimberpine Жыл бұрын
Hey Ken, So carbide3d requires the bitsetter to make the advanced vcarve work without having to reset the z zero. kzbin.info/www/bejne/jYqxg4mYmZqtedE

How did you get the advanced vcarve to go through at the end and clean up your pocket lines? Do you have a discord? lmao
@aetimberpine4 ай бұрын
The advanced vcarve is a 2 tool toolpath. The pocketing tool, usually an endmill. And then the vbit. Carbide motion will prompt you to start with the endmill and once complete it will prompt for the vbit.

It's certainly a free country but I can't help remind everyone a portion of the US Flag Code, "The flag should never have placed upon it, nor on any part of it, nor attached to it any mark, insignia, letter, word, figure, design, picture, or drawing of any nature"
