Edgar, I am a complete newbie to CNC. So new that my Shapeoko 5 pro still isn’t quite running. I initially had an issue with a faulty connection. Now that is fixed but they sent the bit zero for an older machine and the connection is wrong. I tried setting zero as described in the videos but when I run a program it doesn’t move to my stock. I’m at a loss. However, your videos are tremendously informative and I am looking forward to being able to put into practice what I have learned from you. GREAT JOB!

your video's are awesome, I think you missed your calling at being a teacher. I do have a question when are you going to get VCarve Pro? I am waiting for you to start teaching before I go and buy that version.

Hey Wayne thank you for the feedback. I was a thinking of doing carbide create pro first and focusing on some 3D carve options before moving onto another program.

What kind of wood is that? Pine? I'm having troubles finding good quality wood in my area. I spent hours in my garage working on projects that I couldnt end up using because of the lack of wood quality.

This was carved on pine. 99% of my projects are carved on pine.

@@aetimberpine do you plain it yourself? I can never find flat pine boards at the big box store! That edge glued pine seems to never be flat.

@@jetsDad77 never plain it. Unless it’s hardwood and I’m going to do an inlay but most of my signs are pine and I don’t plain them down.

Hey Randy Hopefully they get you straightened out with the bit setter. In the meantime if you don’t used it, make sure you disable the bitsetter In the settings option in the upper right. Once you disable you can then initialize the machine. Once that is done you can then set you zeroes. Take your time and just try to get a simple carve done. Maybe pocket a circle, with a max carving depth of 0.04” with the default toolpath settings. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment
