Great video! I've had this since it came out and have been revisiting it again. It usually has more available than what I need, but I really started to like the plugin. It's a great way to try different sounds easily.

Even though I got this when it came out, it was good to come back to this no-nonsense walk-through for a refresher course. nice one.

Thanks! In regards of the delay into reverb tricks and flexibility, I dig this one a lot.

Thanks for this. I did a review of this plugin on my channel as well as soon as the thing came out. I didn't go into as much depth into the settings, but maybe I covered something you didn't. Thanks for sharing - gave yours a like!

Very informative. I do feel like some of the A vs B comparisons weren't level matched so it's tricky to discern the difference. Anyway, thanks for the vid

Does every channel on epic match to a channel on the DAW? for example wanna send a snare to the plate and maybe a voice to the room, using exactly the same instance of epic running in an external FX bus where I normally tend to send things to be affected in parallel. thank you so much
@whitenoisestudio3 жыл бұрын
I get want you want to achive, but EPIC cant do this. EPIC doesnt have sidechaining abilities, it's really one coherent unit. What you want is indeed like a normal send effect or group bus and to achieve that within 1 plugin would actually be more complicated then ordinairy sends and returns. You need to have multiple sidechain inputs ( cubase 11 has this possibilty) but also the abilty to send every effect to another group, efx or sidechain.

@@whitenoisestudio Yeah exactly, I use Reaper but thank you so much for the clear response.

Reaper is great! It will be the same for every DAW with EPIC :-)

Great job explaining. I noticed you didn't use the high pass and low pass filters available on each effect channel; I use these often and find them very useful, so I was a bit surprised you didn't feature them. The only criticism I have of the demonstration is that the volume levels of the with-and-without Epic should have been the same. I know when one adds Epic FX's the volume will be louder if the master fader is not adjusted down, but evaluating Epic would have been more representative if the levels were balanced. Still, thanks so much for a great presentation. :)
@whitenoisestudio3 жыл бұрын
Yeah i focussed more on the unique features and since that plaugin has the low end and hig end reverbtime controls i dodnt do the low and hi pass. Could've done it, valid point. And for a delay / reverb deifferences in volume arent that important for the video wince it's al about the sound of the effetc. If it was a limiter or compressor / eq ect i would have absolutely done volume adjusting more. And thank you for your kind words!!!

I bought this and despite it sounding great I've never really got on with it, it just feels fiddly and complex. I think I need to spend more time with it.
@whitenoisestudio3 жыл бұрын
Hey Jay, just try to understand the signal flow. It's from left to right. 4 delays which can be patched into the 4 reverbs at the right. That's basically it to put it very simply. Hope it works out!
@jjones78372 жыл бұрын
Seriously. Study this thing. It really is epic. I use this on like every mix I can.
@whitenoisestudio2 жыл бұрын
The blend of delay are so good for mixing, and that has been done greatly in this tool.
@jjones78372 жыл бұрын
@@whitenoisestudio I agree. The sound is genuinely much more advanced and 3D than other similar plug ins in my opinion. Being able to work with 8 modules within a plugin and also the work flow. Its a very under rated secret weapon. Great review.

I agree and thank you for your kind words :-)
@sub40373 жыл бұрын
hi there, would you use this as a insert or send?
@whitenoisestudio3 жыл бұрын
Hey! I'm using EPIC as both an insert and as send effect in this video. I'll use it as insert when I have a stereo group / track when I just want that group or track to have a splash of effect and as send for for instance the drums where I send snare , OH and toms with different amounts to the effect. I would use EPIC as send too when I want the effect to be more tailored and EQ'd, using as insert make that more difficult.

blimey that thing will destroy my i5 CPU
@whitenoisestudio3 жыл бұрын
nah, I dont think it will be that dramatic. 1 instance wont kill cpu performance on your i5 ;-) I had 7 running with 32 samples latency. So you can always go up in latency a lot which will give a lot of headroom.
