Those Staedtler ones are so much cheaper than the Graphitint here in Germany, that's why I got them. I love the Stadtler colours, I wish there were more of them, they're like real rich gem colours 🥰 I don't own the Graphitint pencils, but the pocket box and I definitely like the colours, but not as much as the Staedtler ones - they just feel so hazy and sooty compared to my Staedtlers 😁
@ColorfullyOptimistic2 жыл бұрын
Oh I bet they are very affordable in Germany. They really aren't too bad here. That's a shame the Graphitint are so expensive there though. I agree, the pigments from Staedtler are beautiful and so bold, but I really do love that muted color you get from Grahpitint.
@LunaBianca18052 жыл бұрын
@@ColorfullyOptimistic Oh no, definitely in for the muted ones, too. I am sure that just like you said, the options round out each other quite well 🥰 I'll probably be mixing them with my Van Gogh dusk colours, the water soluble charcoal I got from Schmincke and the Boku Undo sumi Gansais that are still waiting for me to actually use them 😁 I just haven't really found the time, the inspiration or the nerve (with the current geopolitical situation, that really gets to me right now - and I'm not even in the area or got family or friends there :/) to be really creative, but once I find that, I'm sure those materials make for a cool mixed media combination ;)

Glad it was helpful! I really enjoy tinted graphite. You don't just have to use them in coloring books by any means. In fact, Lindsay the Frugal Crafter did a video just the other day doing a gorgeous painting with them.
@suewilkinson9102 жыл бұрын
Thank you for this video Lori, it's most helpful. I've not thought to use the tints for a complete picture, I've used them in smaller areas for specific things and not thought to go over with the dry pencil. I think the metallic pencils would go over the top well too, especially the Derwent metallics of recent years - the non-water soluble ones. They have a similar shade set and could well create interesting shadows. Which brings me on to my question. Have you done in the past, or would you consider doing a video on how to get the best out of metallic pencils in colouring books? Because they can look wonderful for steam punk images but I'm sure they could work well in other images if I knew a better way of working with them.

Oh goodness! I just called you Lori. My excuse is I'm barely awake yet. Sorry Kori!

Try the Steadtler Luna Watercolour 48 set, it behaves like the tinted graphite also very pigmented. Luna series has a normal wax and other is watercolour, if you try them make sure to get the right one. The pencil body of the watercolour set has stripes to show the actual colour and the colour when its watered down. I've been using my luna watercolour set like you do with these pencils, they're amazing.
