Thank you for this video. I've seen other videos with Cricut product experts and when they do layered iron-on, they do the first layer(s) for a short time-maybe 10 seconds. That way the first layer isn't being pressed for double the time. This is the same way I usually do my layered iron-on. What are your thoughts on this way of pressing? Thanks!

I would just use the clear backing from each colour to protect the iron-on it came from instead of using parchment paper or buying the Cricut colour protector. I peel the backing off after I pressed it, and then reapply at the same time I'm adding other colours.

Hi, Question. So you ironed the red rose twice, about 1 min total. Won't too much heat damage the vinyl? I've done that before and it started wrinkling the vinyl.. So i've learned to iron the first layer for half the time, and the second time around going full 30 seconds... Any suggestions?

I have found that if you keep heating up the previous layer it makes it start to bubble up, so pressing the first layers for 30 seconds is a bad idea. I do it for 10-15 seconds and then at the end I do all layers for 20-30 seconds.

great video, I just got my cricut explore. is there a reason you didn't trim the vinyl, to a size close to the size of the design, before putting it on the mat? i.e. a square 7 X 5 instead of the entire sheet of vinyl. :)

Hi. Thank you for your video. You did so well explaining everything, especially for a beginner like me :-) I was wondering about the protective sheet that you used between ironing the red and green parts. The only place I can find iron-on protective sheets are on cricut's website but they are out of stock and have been for a while now. Is there anything else that's similar to that for me to use? I saw Teflon Heat Resistant Transfer Protector Sheets. Do those do the same thing? Thanks for your time!

What is the "iron on protectant (or protective) sheet" you use to protect the rose when ironing on the leaves? I typed in "iron on protectant (also tried protective) sheet" in the search bar on the Cricut website, and nothing came up. I tried "iron protectant sheet", "protectant sheet", every possible variation including substituting "protective" for "protectant" and nothing comes up. How do I find it on the Cricut website?

It's a protective sheet. I just checked the Cricut website for them and they still don't have them. But, you can you butcher paper or parchment paper instead.

Ooh that could be a really fun project! You could cut out iron-on and apply! You'd need to know what kind of material the leash/collar is but the Cricut Heat Guide would give you all the info to apply! cricut.com/en_us/heatguide

@@Cricut Also could you use your own artwork instead of what is already on the software? If I had my own design I drew myself could I upload that to the program and have it use that instead? I am thinking of getting one so the more info about it the better. I am a scad MFA student in illustration and I have wanted to try textile design and I do not have the technical skills to do that. I am hoping this will give me another way to do that. I want to design pet apparel greeting cards and more. Maybe even equestrian gear and horse tack. What would you recommend I try as a beginner?
