In Polish we use už and ešte in the same meanings (we say: już, jeszcze) I got no problem to understand it :)

I'd say in Russian they're also the same :) už = užE (russian) and ešte = jeszczjO. Both words have the last syllable stressed. And we also do not divide our “щ” sound into “sz” and “cz”. But you should know that :)

@@mrfranzose yeah, I've learnt some Russian few years ago (but only half of year) and I think the pronounciation is like "jeszjo". Correct me if I'm wrong ;)

@@georgesoros0 No, it's "jeśśo" - with Ś not SZ pl.forvo.com/word/%D0%B5%D1%89%D1%91/#ru I find it interesting that some people say "jeśśo" and some jeśo/ (that sounds like 'jesion' ;) - pl.forvo.com/word/jesion/#pl the stress is on the last syllable in Russian, and on the first in Polish) Wikipedia says that reduced {е} makes /ɪ/ sound (like in English 'bit') -- but for me it's still more 'e' than 'y' ;)

Actually I feel pretty much good using Už & Ešte (Già & Ancora in Italian). It’s a bit curious that they often are at the beginning of the phrase. Ďakujem ešte raz učiteľka! 👍🏻

Už and ešte were easy to understand for me because "yet" and "still" are the same word and also "already" and "anymore" are the same word in Japanese :) "Ešte raz prosím?" is useful phrase when I couldn't hear in talking.

@@LearnSlovakwithStories ahoj 🙂 thank you for your answer. In fact I'd like to know in which context we have to use prečitat' and čitať for example. What is the difference between these verbs when they are conjugated at the past, present, future tenses ? I think one of these verbs can't be used in the future tense, that would be weird and native speakers don't do that but it is not clear for me. Do we have to know the perfective and the imperfective forms of the verbs to be understood by Slovak people ? or is it ok if we don't ? Thank you for all your work 🙂 Good night

Już/Jeszcze v Pol'štine(works the same way) Już/Jeszcze (nie) jestem odporny-means the same as in Slovak(but odporny means immune/resistant, which could be funny for Slovaks and Czechs) (Już) jest ósma(godzina). We don't have "už aj!", but similar (Już) starczy! (Już) koniec! But they are not sooo popular I think Jeszcze wiele/dużo ludzi and jeszcze raz works the same way more-więcej Chcesz jeszcze(trochę/więcej) herbaty? To jest jeszcze lepsze. Wyskakuje jeszcze wyżej. Chcieli postawić(/zbudować) jeszcze wyższą wieżę.

Btw "odporny" surprised me because it's one of those funny homonyms with different meanings: in Slovak odporný means disgusting :D

Also warowny have somehow a little similar meaning with odporny in all 3 of languages(Polish, Czech and Slovak) as far as I know(I mean warowny is connected with odporny and varovný is connected with odporný) Warowny(fortified)-varovný(warning) odporny(resistant)-odporný(disguisting)
