I’ve seen a lot of strange stuff in my half century. I’ve never seen anyone drain oil into a plastic bag.

I mean we’ve always drained oil into a plastic container, and it comes in plastic containers. So what’s the difference?
@PH-md8xp Жыл бұрын
@@chrissahagun4803 Plastic bags are much more prone to tears and leaks, that’s the difference. Last think you want is oil leaking wherever you put the bag as you take it to be recycled.

I drained mine into the last 5qt oil jug from last oil change, this is defiantly much easier and cleaner. This uses tech that has been used to seal open hydraulic systems. Very nice time to share with friends

Get an oil change container, it makes it easier to collect oil.

This is a really cool product, seems to be a lot less pain than some of the others and thanks for the review and video.

@@AwkwardHamsternice video! Def makes the oil changes less messy. I was looking at both this and the Fumoto valve, but this appears to be more user-friendly! Nice thing is, you could drain the oil directly into the container to be brought back to the recycle center, auto parts store, etc. 😃👍🏼
@jcc766 Жыл бұрын
I cut the tube shorter and use a 6qt tall jug to flow straight into in. No oil pan catcher needed. Thankfully my Tacoma is tall, may not work for shorter cars unless it’s a flatter container.
@carlovanrijk4039 Жыл бұрын
@@jcc766 yeah it probably wouldn’t work for my Honda Civic, but a vehicle with some decent ground clearance like yours (or an SUV), yeah I can see it. 👍🏼

In your opinion, why? Where do you keep the adapter that screws on the Valvo? Any foreseeable issues if the oil is sometimes changed at a dealer or Jiffylube?

Before you unscrew the oil filter put a good sized ziplock bag over it then remove. Any oil dripping will go into bag. Filter and any residue oil removed cleanly

I don't understand how draining it in to the plastic bag is cleaner 😕 it needs to be in a sealable collection container and taken to be recycled. I'm hoping you didn't try to place that in the trash.

I had exactly the same question.

Tactical error: should have put in some of the new oil to make sure the valve had reseated and was not leaking, before screwing the cap back on. But it's a nice video anyways.

I just ordered my third ValvoMax. This time for my Honda Accord. I haven’t found a clean way to remove the filter. I tried plastic cup, plastic bag, but still make a mess. Just yesterday I was wondering if I should try puncturing a hole in the filter to drain it some more before unscrewing. I saw that in a video. Since my car isn’t lifted far off the ground like theirs, I don’t think I can get enough force to puncture the filter at the bottom.

@@AwkwardHamsterMaybe use a battery operated Brad Nailer to puncture the oil filter?
