@Andrew in your books you mention that traders stay away from mega cap/large float stocks with over 500 M Share, but i see that you only trade mega cap stocks now such as NVDA< AMD etc instead of medium float. ORCL has over 1.6B shares. Is there a reason why you not trading medium float stocks now?

You can trade mega caps no problem if they have news or have extra volatility like NVDA for example

@@MrNetsecure the decision to trade certain stocks depends on various factors, including market conditions, catalysts, volatility, and volume. Mega-cap stocks like NVDA and AMD often have high liquidity and volatility, making them attractive for day trading. Each trader's approach may vary based on their strategy and preferences.

I'm almost done with your book and now watching these videos to further understand the strategies in your book. My question is for the ORB, is it better to enter when the price is gaping up and about to break VWAP or it is better to wait for the pull back to VWAP (which would confirm it as support or resistance) for a better entry? Seems in the video you guys enter as price breaks VWAP on the 1min. I thought that would be considered risky.
@BearBullTraders
@BearBullTraders 3 ай бұрын
It is really situational, waiting for a retest is safer, but you'll miss some opportunities, getting in at the break is riskier, but you're more likely to catch bigger portion of the move. Both are good approaches depending on how convinced you're that your thesis is going to work and market conditions

For day trading I use: 9 Exponential Moving Average (9 EMA) 20 Exponential Moving Average (20 EMA) 50 Simple Moving Average (50 SMA) 200 Simple Moving Average (200 SMA) Volume Weighted Average Price (VWAP) I explain this and more in my book "How to Day Trade for a Living” amzn.to/3siLtBL

Hi AZIZ. Since you are meeting Zarattini in Switzerland, this is a question for you both: Regarding you recently published TQQQ ORB, how many attempts to ride the trend did the back testing perform on the data sample? For example, today the first ORB candle was red, but TQQ ended up +4.35%. You would have missed it if you tried only on the first candle. In fact, you would have been stopped out several times per day with a 10% ATR protection. But it the becomes a discretionary strategy if you constantly reset the trade. I'm puzzled. Please explain.

According to the study, stop loss is 10% of the ATR, if you get stopped, you don't re-enter

these last 2 weeks has been rough for trading ORBs all of the mid-large caps that are up 7-10% end up falling and I don't have the ability to short. Any thoughts Andrew?
@BearBullTraders
@BearBullTraders 4 ай бұрын
Yes, it can be frustrating. One approach could be to consider other trading strategies or focus on stocks with stronger upward momentum. Additionally, using risk management techniques to minimize losses during volatile periods can be helpful.

@@BearBullTraders I’ve only found success with ORBs and trades like that vwap break because of their strict stops and simplicity, I’ve been managing risk it’s just a matter of time until I get some more winning trades!

Crazy story about that adding to losers and blowing up. 2 fears I spotted, fear of losing money and fear of being wrong. Away with your bias the only bias that matter is from the market itself.
