One of the neatest (albeit only around 5 min or so) moments in my aviation journey: I had the honor and pleasure of meeting John and Martha at Oshkosh in 2021 and took a picture with them which I have on display in our airplane room of the house :) I've watched them for years. Started out on hand me down VHS and then purchased their interactive programs to get me through my PPL ground school; now using them for my A&P writtens; and purchased their instrument and commercial programs for my next steps. My dad used some of their curriculum back in the late 80s/early 90s when he was going through his CFII/MEI stuff too. We've always enjoyed them. Their style is sometimes quirky with the cheesy jokes, but, so am I, so I like it, LOL - it sticks in your memory. 'Keep the pointy end forward, the dirty side down, and please, stay out of the trees!' The Kings are a true gem and blessing to the aviation community. Thank you King Schools!

Excellent job, Martha! Your attention to the details and simplified description of the E6-B operations was very well done with this video series! I should add this is another great example of the King School flying tutorials. I relied on the King's Private Pilot Ground school course for my preparation of the FAA written exam and passed with a 95% on my first try! I put a great deal of effort into studying using the Kings tutorial videos courses and it paid off handsomely. Thank you John and Martha!

Thank you for your clear explanations; I bought an E6B because it reminded me of when my father learned how to fly - he could fly private but not commercial due to medical reasons. I've seen or read several explanations on how to use it but I've found these explanations the clearest and easiest to understand.

Can this tool be used as a weapon, is it more effective than an electronic calc as a weapon? My instructor needs to know this Incase a passenger in unruly.

@king schools where did you get this big flight computer. I will be teaching in September and was wondering if the flight school where i am can also get this big computer. Will be easier to teach the students. Thanks

The year is 2024. We have electronic calculators, and ForeFlight. Does learning an E6-B give a modern day student who is learning flight planning for the first time, a better understanding of flight planning? or is it a waste of time given our modern day technology? Do you guys think the E6-B should be thrown into the garbage can? Is it still worth learning given today's technology? If so...then why? Martha's reasoning was to have a non electronic backup if the electronic calculator fails. What are your thoughts ? Any other reasons why a student pilot should take the time to learn how to use the manual E6-B whizz wheel? Anybody? Any airline pilots or want to comment? Anybody want to comment? Curious to hear your perspective.
