Two questions though, one is that always hear the term "jailbreak" when I hear about the Firestick, what is that and does it have to be done over the internet? Jailbreaking is actually an incorrect term, but seems to be easier for people to understand what’s going on. Basically you are unlocking your device to allow for 3rd party developer apps (getting free movies and live tv) instead of the traditional way of paying for that content. On the second question. Firestick is different. Chromcast is a streaming device also however is used the Google playstore for apps where as Amazon uses the Amazon store. Chrome cast works with Google home devices like the Google thermostat and Google voice assistant where firestick uses Amazon Alexa enabled devices. I control all my security cameras, lights, Christmas lights, thermostat, washer and dryer etc all from my firestick and echo devices

Ive been using the hotspot connection on my phone for a few yrs when I still had cable and cable would be down for whatever reason. Then when I got my first Roku then my fire TV I did it then too. I'm going to try it again now to see if I can still do it since I got a new TV. Yep it still works on my new Fire TV. I've always had unlimited data with every phone service I've used except with the govt phone.

You can pull it up through the media hub on es file explorer. If you need private help or a private video, we offer that over on Patreon. It's not difficult to set up, but there are common mistakes people make which can be avoided. I had this video on YT for about a year and YT decided it no longer complied with P&P. Patreon is better anyway because we can go back and forth asking questions and give private videos to walk you through steps on anything for the FS.

Yes, when you get that screen, right below is the setting button, then you can navigate to es file manager. Most apps will not work on the drive, but you can access your downloaded content from them
