Have been using ROKU based TV for years. Never have to watch other video trying to learn how to use it. But occasionally have connection problem with KZbin so decide to get a new TV. Just bought an LG with web OS and god do I agree the UI is horrendous.

Bought an LG tv from hotel. Plugged hdmi cable into bell fibe receiver and back of tv-only white snow. Used an lg remote to confirm that input source locks are all off. Only way to use tv is with lg remote, have to change input to HDMI each time then go ahead and use bell remote. I don’t want to use 2 remotes. I only want to use Belk remote. Please help.

It looks great, but it also provides many ways for my mom to screw up, get lost and have to call me to know how to get to what she wants. I think this UI is not foolproof enough for old people who are easily confused by too much information and submenus.

Get a roku. I have one on my LG smart TV. The Roku is faster & easier to operate and the new ones turn your tv on/off, has tv volume control and for things like Sling or Netflix you have shortcut buttons OR you can speak into the remote to open any apps.

Why can't I set up the TV timer to turn on to a specific app in the Launcher or the LG Channels? I have no other inputs/components so my timer is useless because there is no signal the TV can connect to automatically to wake me up. The result is a silent TV that turns on to the screensaver, and a "No Signal" message #Dissapointing

May I suggest that this system is too complicated for the casual tv viewer and should be sold with a warning label on the carton. A competitor I would suggest would be to go to the Visio group, a producer of simple plug and play electronics with an excellent owner manual and an intuitive operating system. The LG company comes off as money grabbing by announcing that the magic remote is the standard as you unpack the set while stating further the the buyer doesn’t get one but can buy it separately. Welcome to LG, now find our owner manual if you can.

Mine is HDMI 2 Input, I have my DVD recorder set there, and even when it's powered down (off), it still comes on the screen. I usually get rid with the remote, seems to happen when I 1st turn on the TV, but don't ever see it again, unless I turn the TV off.
