Great products, yet it makes no sense that the Connect line of locks REQUIRES a hub, and cannot be used via a standalone app or SmartThings like the other Schlage smart locks... WHY?? It's a given that that capability should be across ALL smart lock product lines, and is specifically why I bought a Connect lock. It doesn't specifically say you NEED a hub anywhere in the literature, advertisements, etc, and you only discover that from attempting to connect it to every other app the other lines of Schlage locks are capable of connecting to. I just got rid of my Abode security system because it never worked right, and assumed I could continue using my Schlage lock with an app, my WiFi router, SmartThings, etc, just to realize I cannot, and am obligated to spend more time and money researching and purchasing other products (hubs) that this lock is actually compatible with so I don't buy the wrong and incompatible thing. Schalge should retroactively create an app or some other simple solution for this, because I can't return this expen$ive lock now 😕

However, our Schlage connect lock is a Z-Wave lock and most mobile devices do not communicate via Z-Wave but Bluetooth. Z-Wave is a common radio frequency used with home security or home automation, so this is why we continue to support this product. I’m on this video for that exact reason. I bought the lock purely on aesthetics, brand name, and purpose. I fumbled around with the Schlage app and apple home kit for a while; constantly rereading the few sentences available on their website about pairing. I was Going to call them, hit came here first- and you answered my question. My lock is too smart for my phone apparently lol

@@BearsArms45Same for me, I thought I’d be able to at minimum lock/unlock with their app. I actually purchased because it says it Ring compatible, but it’s not unless you have their alarm service with has a monthly sub and requires a $200 Ring hub. Very disappointed.

I just need to know how I can remotely lock my Schlage locks via my phone app? I had a contractor leave one unlocked for a whole weekend. I looked everywhere and feel like I'm just missing the info somehow, I'm sure its a simple task. Thank you!

If you have an older Connect model like the BE469NX or one that does not have the Zwave Plus technology like model BE469ZP then you would pair by using the keypad instead of pressing the button on the motherboard. If the lock is giving you a yellow light every time you try to enter the User Code, that is an indication that the batteries are getting low. I would recommend changing them with brand new, high quality alkaline batteries and the issue should be resolved. What app should be used for this lock? The Schlage Home app only provides the option for either Schlage Encode locks or Schlage Sense locks to be set up. I was able to pair the Schlage Connect lock with my Ring hub and Alexa. Am able to lock and unlock it via voice command. However, my understanding is that he Schlage app is necessary to perform programing functions that you would otherwise have to do manually. So, what is the specific Schlage app for the Schlage Connect Smart lock? Anyone?

@@SchlageLocksOfficial This makes no sense. As it is advertised as a lock that you can control access from anywhere. "Give access remotely with existing Z-Wave system, enter access code on touchscreen, use smartphone app or use key." You mentioned to James that you can use the Ring Alarm as a hub, I don't have a Ring doorbell. I do however have SmartThings and successfully connected the lock to my ST hub -- but through that app, I can only lock/unlock my door. Same with my Alexa app -- I only have the option to lock/unlock. How do I setup/manage users/ configure some of the other features like automatic lock if I cannot add the device to the schlage app? I just setup the Schlage Sense for my daughter (who does not have a ST hub) and it setup so easy... please advise.

Thanks for the reply Nat. To set up with Z-Wave plus you will need to be by the lock to establish the initial communication between the lock & Z-Wave controller/ hub. Once that is established you could enter the DSK/QR code from anywhere, but we strongly recommend doing so while in proximity in case of error.

The lock is the best, I connected to RIng Alarm but it accepts only 4 digit length code, that defeats the 8 digit code length possible by Schlage. I wish it had the same as code length optionl as Schlage
