What is the risk of running the vacuum cycle for longer than 15 seconds? Does the mason jar not support stronger vacuum pressures? Will it shatter? I've seen another video here on KZbin where something like that did occur with another brand's chamber sealer.

Hi, thanks for the video. Why did you have to get away with the settings "15"? Was that because it's a mason jar, or because of the size of mason jar, or because of the contents within jar? Also, can you do this for liquid goods like guacamole?

Hello! The amount of vacuum time is relevant to the size of the jar and for the size of jars that can fit into the chamber of the USV20 a time of 15 seconds or less should be sufficient to vacuum seal. When vacuuming a jar externally, just follow the instructions to vacuum seal a jar externally and the machine will stop once all the air has been extracted. I hope this helps! Thanks!

I just received my USV20 today. If you have small enough mason jars that can fit more than one inside the chamber, will the machine vacuum seal both at the same time?

Hello, this does not directly replace canning with the heat sterilization but it is a great option or supplement for vacuum sealing dry goods and other products that don't need the sterilization, to extend the shelf life. Thanks!

Hi Lynn! After attaching the accessory hose, are you holding the auto vac/seal button down for a few seconds to engage the accessory port function?

Id change seal time to zero, since you aren't sealing a bag.

shouldn't you lower the seal time or just remove the seal bar.
