How to Vacuum your Pool with your Pools Sand Filter / How to Backwash and Rinse Your Sand Filter

It helped ne out, i never thought of putting the entire hose for the vacuum inside the pool, i had it outside and was wondering why nothing is happening, ill try again tomorrow, i also didn't know why my pool turned green until watching another video on how to shock it real good to kill all that algae, so thank you and keep the videos coming

Mr. Poorboy, I got a friend who looks like you but talks 5 times slower! His "How are you today" would put you to sleep between the How and the Are. Rumor has it that his daughter got pregnant & had a baby before he completed a paragraph...a long one anyway. At any rate, he's old now, got one foot in the grave & the other on 2 banana peels! I read the instructions and it said to vacuum in filtration mode but it just blows all the silt back into the pool🙄. The instructions also say not to use the pump to empty the pool in winter mode as it can damage the valve😮? My old filter had a vacuum to waste setting so the silt bypassed the filter straight to waste. Your video makes perfect sense it is just that the instructions say not to do it. How often have you used winter mode to vacuum and have you had any valve issues as a result? Game need to up their game with that crap instruction manual… cheers brother, be lost without ya…😅

Not sure why anyone would want to drain the pool through the pump. Most above ground pools have drain plugs.

@@papawsplace sorry brother, communication issues. Page 12 of the directions state in BOLD, ‘do not run the pump in winterise position as it may damage the valve and void the warranty’. How often do you vacuum to waste this way and have you had any issues with the valve, filter or pump?

Thank you for your many informative videos! Just one question, I plumbed everything the same as you but when I went to vacuum it had no suction at all. I have the same pump and did everything just like you did so I'm not sure what could be the problem. Any thoughts, advice would be great.

Ms. Debra, in order for me to get mine to work I have to plug off the B ports and fill the vacuum hose with water to get it stated. It's very aggravating to me. So, I just get plug my vacuum into the B port that my skimmer is hooked to and vacuum that way now.

Great Videos very helpful. I have a question how often should the sand be taken out of the pump or u don’t remove it at all.?

From my research some say every one to three seasons, but for the price of the sand I'll empty mine after every summer and store the pump in the shed then put new sand in at beginning of the next swimming season. With all to dust and pollen in the air here I feel that's the best thing to do.

How often do you purge the air from your sand filter? Can you ever get all the bubbles out of the tubes?

Not sure why your having bubbles. Check and make sure you don't have a leak or sucking air around any of the fitting or the top of your sand filter.

In one of your videos you talked about the direction of the water (from the outlet), I don't remember which video it was. I did watch almost all of your videos using a different account. But my phone was stolen and I couldn't access my old account so I opened a new one. What did you add to it or change so it didn't go straight out?

Mr. Pawk, I'm not sure what you are referring to. I vacuum mine buy turning the valve on the filter to winterization / waste position.

Personal experience if you vacuum in filter mode your dial selector will get stuck.

I aways did, but now I use a Pool Blaster Vacuum. It saves me lot of time. I have a video on the Pool Blaster in my Pool related videos.

I can't say if it does, I've never let my pool get algae that bad even after being over wintered, but it does pick up sand and settlement nicely.

When you are in vacuum mode to you have the return line locked or open?

I close my return line just as a safety precaution to make sure nothing goes back into the pool.
