Too much overthinking. The most painful insult anyone who tries to engage you in a verbal battle can suffer is to be completely disregarded. I was wearing a tight t-shirt once and some dude said I had manboobs. What did I respond with? I looked down at my chest, shrugged at him while looking him in the eyes and then kept talking to the two people standing next to me. That was just a natural response. The other dude then came toward us getting more loud and bothered to the extent that both the people I was talking with told him to chill and leave. One of them was a girl. I didn't even have to do anything. The mere fact that I treated him with zero regard set him off in a way that made him look like a fool. I then hit him with two words that made him walk away like a dog that has just been scolded; "cheers dude." You don't have to do anything.
@Morenosementalfolla6 жыл бұрын
This is basically what he said about it haha. I had the same kind of situation with a large group of chicks and a dude came by to me and told me "hey you got manboobs" and I just replied, " you know where to look at on an attractive man." winked, smiled and moved on. He was struggling to understand what I meant with that and I was clearly a winner.

I partially agree with your statement but when someone who instigates personal conflict like that must be responded to in the same manner or even worse manner, unless you have an extremely self deprecatory sense of humour. In other scenarios, a comment much lighter and non-logical than that can be disregarded. But saying absolutely nothing is probably the worst thing you can do during an altercation. Trust me.

Or they'll just attack back and everything goes to s***. The best defense is actually to have the ego on the floor, Let Go, not having any expectations or worries-- in one ear out the other if they're trying to provoke you. Because really this whole language thing is just a bunch of sounds that stand for something, which sure, can emotionally trigger our inner minds and have natural reactions that can be nasty, or we can just realize that life is just a game and it's meant to just be enjoyed and enjoy the journey. We don't have to give idiots power if we slow down and realize how ridiculous the whole ordeal might be (don't have to play their game, and if you must to have respect, maybe the whole social order you're involved in is crap... (Then again I've been in a few too many messes for my liking)

If you're smart you expose and defeat the ego in the first instance, because if someone is ruled by their ego, your actions/words are pretty much irrelevant to it, aren't they? They're gonna perceive ANYTHING as a challenge to their ego. The best course is to disect it clearly in front of them so that they can see it, witch requires an initial challenge directly to it. What you suggested only works on people who don't have an inflated ego, which is a tiny minority in the western world.
@TheHellBoy053 жыл бұрын
I have been in many confrontations and one thing I know is this. The less you say or assert, the more in control you are. Win with your actions, not argument. SHOW what you mean, dont say. React, and you make them feel won. But ignore them, answer sweetly, and they will hate you. Disdain and contempt are the most dangerous weapons.

This is bad advice lol The only reason a guy will challenge you randomly is if he sees you as some form of competition or is showing off. That means there would be others there. Saying "you know what they say about guys with big muscles" then walking off is sure to get you in trouble hahaha I've dealt with some serious guys before when they've started with me and having a sense of humour is always the way forward. If you make the audience laugh, you win and he won't start again unless you rub it in and/or challenge him. The joke reply can be taking the mickey out of yourself too which means you've no need to worry about repercussions. Quite often the guy who challenged you will respect you and you could potentially make a new friend if the joke is very funny. Win the group is the answer. I'm really surprised that you've so much conviction this advice is good, I advise anyone watching to ignore it.

Another great technique I think is to ask questions, or even just agree non chalantly. The whole point of such a statement by someone is to upset you. Eg. “why does that bother you?” -> now you’ve put the ball in their court, you’ve implied they have a problem. Or “yeah I totally couldn’t”.. now you’ve taken away the conflict. It’s egoless, you’re not concerned about anyone’s perception of the situation. That’s my thoughts :) good video

A guy once got butthurt because I wouldn't "get out of his way" in the parking lot. He was hot rodding around in the parking lot and ended up in a position where if he pulled forward he would run into my front bumper with his driver's door - just as proof of the predicament he had put himself into. So he had done the hand waving, yelling and flipped me off in order to get me to move and I just sat there and waited for him to put it in reverse and go around me. Apparently, that bruised his ego so as I was walking into the building, he confronted me and told me he was going to kick my ass. Now, I had already signed my contract to go into the military but I was just a skinny wire of a frame and he was not only a lot bigger but had a lot more muscle. Most guys would have backed down after he stated that he was going to kick my ass as a way of introducing himself standing right in front of my face. But I stood there and responded with "well, if you're going to kick my ass the least you could do is introduce yourself so I know who kicked my ass." This was partly meant as a joke to disarm and partly meant as a way to buy myself some time as I didn't, at the time, have a general plan for dealing with knuckleheads. I didn't smile so he fell for it and he began giving me pretty much a formal introduction including name and his credentials which I will spare you. After introducing himself, he seemed to ask me my name and, instead of responding with a simple yes, I offered this as a response "that's what people call me but I think I was adopted and if you will help me prove that I was adopted we can be best friends." This seemed to irritate him just slightly but it also threw him off because he stood there and stared at me for a few seconds before responding which I found funny because, at this point, I was just fucking with his feeble mind. Then, he sort of shook his head, and asked me again if my name was Eric Kirkland and I said "yes, that's what people call me. But again, I think I was adopted and you should help me prove it so we can find out who I really am." Again, not smiling even a little bit. And again, more silent staring and mind fucking. After he came out of his verbal coma, he again stated "I'm going to kick your ass" and that's when I laid this one on him "well, you might get lucky and you might kick my ass today. But barring that I'm going to bite your fucking ear off and then I'm going to be wearing your ear on a fucking necklace and every time I see you I'm going to pull that necklace out and dangle your fucking ear at you just as a reminder to you of who owns your fucking ear." He had also introduced himself as "the middle linebacker of the (high school) varsity football team" so I pointed out that "every time you walk into the locker room you're going to have to explain to everyone why you only have one fucking ear and you probably won't be able to play anymore because when shit is happening on the football field you're going to be like 'what? I can't hear wtf is going on!" He never took one swing at me. But we did wind up doing damage to each other's vehicle. Mine was a used Ford Escort that ran on 3 cylinders and his was a shiny new Pontiac Trans Am that never ran again after I got done with it. Last I knew of him, he was living with his parent's in the same house they lived in when we were in high school. Most bullies are fucking stupid. They only bully people because no one has stood toe to toe with them and told them they're going to bite their fucking ear off. And then be willing to do it. It's okay to try to talk yourself out of a physical confrontation. But it's also okay to stand toe to toe with a fucking imbecile and threaten to bite his fucking ear off. But you have to be willing to go through with your promises in life. Otherwise, people will think you're a pansy and no one respects a pansy because a pansy is someone you can fuck with every step of the way because they're a fucking pansy. Stand and deliver.

There are some things I like about some of the things said in the videos of this channel, but there are other things I disagree with or I should say a lot of things. I don't really think the world is divided so neatly between alpha and beta, I think everyone has a bit of both and different personalities can succeed in their own way, just as herbivores and carnivores both succeed in different ways. When it comes to people making some quick comment about you, context is very important. If it's your family member or a group of friends that are actually friends (not just acquaintances) then you can get away with verbal sparrings. However, if you're talking about a stranger in the street or in public or even in a school setting, there is absolutely no way that getting into a verbal spat over a quick comment is worth it. At best you could get yourself into a highly aroused state for no reason and at worse you could get yourself killed. The real world is not pretty. "Pride" and "not backing down" is really just nonsense talk that is meant to fool people into doing decisions that are almost always detrimental. We always talk about not "white knightning" for women, which means defending a woman, if it means you get hurt. However, this is actually a case of white knighting for yourself. Don't be a white knight. Don't be a hero. You're not a hero. You're made of flesh and bones and sensitive ones at that. There are crazy and insane people out there. They don't care about alpha, beta or anything. Is it really worth getting hurt by getting yourself involved with someone you don't care about? Don't let anyone into your life that you don't want into your life. Women seem to understand this very well. Women are much more protective of themselves and much more intelligent than most young men (particularly the adventure-seeking men). Women know if they give anyone attention, that person is suddenly a part of your life. Don't give them the attention. Even if they hurt your pride, ignore and walk away. There's no such thing as honor. You're not getting anything out of word altercations so don't waste your time. The more you ignor it, the sooner you'll forget about it. Your mind will easily forget about something that you just ignored. Then, it's like it never happened. By giving it attention, you make it a part of your life.

clear mist Alpha and beta are relative terms pertaining to hierarchy. Hierarchy is based on perception. To test someone is to imply doubt in their ability. Therefore only betas have to deal with these shit tests. Engaging in the test is an attempt to change the perception of the people in the given hierarchy. Therefore, according to the video, to be alpha is to not only care enough about the words of a stranger that you feel beta, you also must care about how other strangers perceive the words of the before mentioned stranger. I don't follow. A verbal battle is an oxymoron to me, either hands are being thrown or they're not. How do you train yourself come up with witty comebacks to other men's tests when you don't care about the game being played? What if your extremely witty comeback is perceived to be lame? What if it's a girl giving the "test". I'm too secure in myself to take this shit seriously, or too autistic.
@clearmist71707 жыл бұрын
dandre3, you do bring up some good points. I feel like maybe this topic is too broad. I was more focusing on a complete stranger trying to test you, or someone that is just wanting to start trouble. However, you also talk about social situations with friends or family members or as you stated girls. Girls are constantly testing men and you're right that this is something that not all women do, but a lot of personality types do this. However, in order to really respond to sarcasm or some other put-down, it really relies more on having the social skills more than anything else and the style you respond with will be based on the type of personality you have where you could respond in a way that is crude, funny, etc. Wit and put-downs can be a powerful psychological tool, and it's important to not allow your confidence to go down, if you happen to be in front of a person that has a higher wit skill than you. I don't even think wit is related to being alpha or beta or being tough or being nice. In fact, often times, if a "nice person" is wittier than a tough person, it's common for the wittier nice person person to hold back and not attack verbally, since it could escalate tensions. Also, you don't even have to be witty or smart to be powerful anyway. A whiny, girlfriend can still have her way and "win an argument" even if what she says is not funny, witty or even sensical. Likewise, the people doing the testing, don't have to actually have good social skills at all. That's the reason why I said that you shouldn't engage in it when you are dealing with complete strangers in public, because the truth is, if someone is attacking you, they don't care if you're smarter, better or otherwise, they could have something up their sleeves or just want to start a fight with you, anyway, but actually backing away or ignoring it, is an effective way to diffuse and take the target away from you.
@Gloriankithsanus7 жыл бұрын
You both are collecting arguments for the same side. The only real answer to this fiesta is, to simply dismiss it, because it's fuckin BS. No one, seriously no one ever did anything like this intentionally. I've got a good friend that would be perceived as ""alpha"" by many of those ppl here, and he's kinda smart. Still, he doesn't intentionally test ppl, or some crap like that. Everything he does, is not giving a fuck about the opinion of ppl he doesn't give a shit about. And thats the lesson to learn. You won't ever be friends with everyone on the planet, so just search for the ppl you do actually like and hang out with em. The rest can piss off. The moment you start believing, there's a social hierarchy somewhere, and you're not on top of it, you're limiting your life and mind by it. Just like coming to this site and watching these vids. You only watch them cuz you feel inferior, and as long as you watch them, it won't get better, cuz it will repeteadly tell you subconciously that you're piece of dogshit in social hierarchy. So just quit it and do and enjoy what you want, cuz life is too short to worry about impressing stupid people.
@clearmist71707 жыл бұрын
@Dregorin, the way I deal with it, is that I don't hang out with people that play mind games like that. I agree. Some people do it out of habit or just because they unconsciously do it. Other people like the banter and the put-downs and the going back and forth with comebacks. It's a personality style that suits some people, but I personally don't enjoy it, so none of my friends do it. I guess I'm just selective about who I surround myself with. I agree that thinking and worrying about social hierarchy is something that really doesn't exist when it comes to an actual official standing. It's a mental construct, that doesn't actually have any actual measures in real life. Nobody is keeping track of how many arguments you win. Obviously there are differences between people, but the actual process of "testing" each other usually is just done for fun or for spite and usually by people who enjoy messing with your head, but none of it matters in the end.
@Gloriankithsanus7 жыл бұрын
clear mist There's nothing wrong in being selective. It's the most mature thing you can do in that situation. People usually don't really hate each other, unless they shot someone of their family n shit. But those are exceptions. People that I thought would think im kinda low on everything, disgusting or anything else, ended up conversing with me completly fine and as long as you keep yourself together and maintain a chilled attitude, no one can really activly "hate" you. I never experienced real hate. Most of what you think it be, is a temporary bad attitude or straight up your imagination. Life is meant to be lived und social hierarchy is such a stupid system, you should never ever invest time into it. That hierarchy is unstable and will break apart constantly, with people changing their social sorroundings through jobs and other stuff. You will lose everything you've built up by climbing a social hierarchy ladder in exactly that moment. Most people watching that shitshow over there, will never achieve their goal, because they're simply not even able to understand what it is about, or not able to use the techniques effectivly. There are so many logic flaws in between the sessions and videos, that it all comes down to "believing". And if you can do that, you might just wanna start believing in yourself amd forgetting this shitshow.

A couple days ago some guys were yelling at me in what sounded like an arrogant tone, like they were trying to provoke me. I raised my hand in what (from the distance between us) could have been perceived as a simple wave hello, me giving them the finger, or me accepting the challenge. They kept shouting at me. I turned and walked away as they shouted. As I turned the corner and escaped their line of sight I booked it out of there. I reached my home and heard them still yelling in the distance.

Im the most handsome and muscular dude in my circle. "Friends" idolized me. Then I realised, I didn't win anything by constantly acting like im the best. I became humble and lowered myself for them, then they showed me their nature. I wasn't wrong, we have been playing these games when I thought I was the only one playing it. As soon as I stopped, they bit me hard. I seek no vengeance, I allowed them to disrespect me for the time and I have made my leave. I'm sick of that same cycle, it's a waste of time and there is no point in it. You only get a sense of winning and not actually winning. My advice would be to lower yourself only if needed and if that person is of benefit to you. If not, leave

This one is hard to master. You need to be quick witted and insightful. I have the hardest time with emasculating attacks. One time a guy who saw me as a threat insinuated a doubt about my sexuality by using slang that I didn-t understand. I responded by trying to be in the present and saying I don-t know what he means (but not in an angry or threatening way) In the end I didn-t get the chance to rebut. Lost that one. and probably looked gay....ahahaha

This shows you didn't take what he said personally, and traps him into doing as you suggest, because if he doesn't he will look selfish in front of others. By him doing as you suggest, it shows you as the leader and him as your helping hand aka "bitch boy" but the cooperation between you will also bond you and befriend each other because now you are a team (but you are the leader)

How to Actually Handle that Scenario: I would either continue doing what I was doing because I don't have time for people who just want to start fights over nothing and I would know that I didn't do anything to provoke him because I'm not a douche so he is likely just having a bad day or something. If he persisted I would say "I'm sorry you feel that way man. I didn't intend to offend you." If he persisted still I'd wonder why I'm still around that person, but I likely would not at any point insult him, hope he's too stupid understand the very obviously derogatory comment and then turn my back or someone larger than me who was already angry with me before I insulted his stature.

How to win these fights don't play treat it all as a joke. Your untouchable remember that if your not mad and he starts throwing punches you win. Look how weak you are you can't even lift that chair... then you ask "are you having a bad day?" Dude will almost always get FUCKING PISSED. When he yells just stand there looking shocked then say to someone around you (not the anger guy) "I think that was a yes?" Then that person will say something then just talk to them. angry man will throw punches or walk away pissed you won either way

I like what you've said here, but when I've tried stuff like this in the past it has quickly unraveled on me because I've either gotten too intellectual/complex and not been understood, or they immediately respond by asking me about what I said. For example: "well I guess what they say about guys with big muscles is true," other guy: " ...and what's that?" me: "....." or "I'm just messing with you/joking " on my better days because I either didn't have a response ready or the punch line was too insulting or intense for the circumstances. The other problem that's occurred is even if the my opponent doesn't ask right away, a bystander usually either asks or is waiting for the punch line and I look like an idiot if I don't say anything and let the silence stretch on. Should my punchlines be surprising, friendly, sharp, non-existent? What should I aim for? Would a better punch line be: "They know heavy shit when they see it" or something equally flat and passive.

I believe this is displayed in “baki” during the rai tai tournament. When the Japanese jiu jitsu guy on the American team announced he had won way too early and it really looked that way but this drove his opponent, the other alpha, to charge him head on foolishly with anger, but this was exactly what the Japanese American jiujitsu fighter wanted. I remember this guys character so well because I do jiujitsu too, although I can’t remember the name of this guy.. he’s bald.. (not dopo) and has a beard and gi pants and glasses

He said, don't get defensive, but reacting intentionally to a provocation is getting defensive after all. You aknowledged, it's an attack, you get emotional over it, and you take your revenge by kicking back. How is this the more mature way of doing it? If you wouldn't have done it without corrupting yourself to deal with your own insecuritys, instead of facing them, then don't waste your time on pretending, cuz you will fall back into old habits, if you only do this, cuz someone said it'll do well. The message you should get in this, is to do whatever the fuck you want and being proud of it, not hiding it, cuz you're afraid of something. Thats the healthy mindset ppl should teach you here, not the alpha bullshit you are wasting your time on.
