How to video -Sublimation onto Siser EasySubli

I had an issue with my recent order of Easy Subli, so I tried pressing a sublimation transfer onto it. I can't take the stress of pressing the subli first, then trying to line it all up. This video shows you the stress free way to do it onto parchemnt paper first.

I have a week of messing up partially printed easy subli in my epson. I am excited to make this work. It also now gives me a way to use up all the smaller size pieces of easy subli I have. I'm so glad I've found your video!!! DS is not user friendly at all sometimes and there's so many things you are limited to if you can only use your phone or certain devices! While my laptop has been down I've had to use my phone and you can't print to cut from it in DS so this gives me the option to be able to still cut intricate designs then press my Sublimation image! This is the only thing I'm stumped/questioning. The way you line it up and press sub to htv b4 applying to shirt. How does it not activate it to stick to the parchment paper? Does it make it harder for the htv to stick to the shirt on the final press? I'm so stunned on how much ink transferred over with only 15 secs. I always thought with sublimation color to transfer it had to be super hot and and closer to a minute or more on press time! You def have another new subscriber ❤️

The parchment paper is kind of like silicone. It just doesn't stick. I have never had an issue with the adhesive being any less from heating it. And the ink transfer is from pressing at 385 for 45 seconds. The 15 second press is at HTV temps (315) for 15 seconds. Glad you liked it and thank you for subscribing :)

I just had an idea to get my designs out of DS. When you hit print choose to print to PDF save to computer. Then use a converter program convert PDF to PNG or SVG. I have been trying to get my designs out of DS and into silhouette studios. Silhouette Studio is so much more advanced than DS and silhouette studio business edition you can save files as SVG to your computer and import in into design space and cut with cricut also thank you for this tutorial as well as I'm going to be doing my first easysubli project Much love ❤️

Absolutely! Design Space is not a good design program at all! I actually design in Photoshop an Illustrator, save as a PNG and import into DS. I have heard great things about SS.

I have a epson 16600 I just print directly on the siser subli and put it in the heat press for 2 min but of course don’t press it and I cut it with my cameo 4! Easy but if the image has white on it like a lot it leaves tiny roller marks because the ink is not gel ink like the sawgrass ink siser it meant to be use with sawgrass not epson so I will use this method if My image has white thank you for this video

definitely don't use wax paper. The heat will melt everything. I never use butcher paper with anything HTV -all sorts of sticking. I only use parchment. In my journey I have always used dollar tree or walmart parchment paper - -but a few projects ago it started to stick! I switched to Renold's brand and it come off like a dream!

Thank you. It's actually a tephlon sheet. I do a lot of HTV as well, so I just leave it on there. When doing sublimation, i always use parchment or craft paper though. Ink can transfer to the tephlon.

Moisture is the only factor that changed for me. I was printing directly to it, then I got a new delivery of subli during a rainstorm. Then I started having issues. I'm not really sure because other people have the same issue. But I just knew I had to figure out a work around. I actually like the results better this way. Even though a little more tedious.

My easysubli paper is the same way when I try to print directly onto it btw. I get “pizza wheels” and the ink seems to bleed before I can even get it under my heat press to get the ink to dry. I’ve only seen 1 other video where someone printed directly to easysubli and it came out great. I tried those settings and it does the same. May try once more but it’s expensive

I always printed directly to it with no issues. But then one day the ink bled, like the horror stories I read online. But now I have found subbing to it gives much better results anyway. It is expensive, but the results are worth it. :)

Thank you Eileen. Welcome to the sublimation community. I am pressing a sublimation transfer onto Siser EasySubli. It is not plain htv. It is a specially designed HTV to accept sublimation ink. I use the subli on cotton or dark shirts -any instance I can not utilize the sublimation process directly. The feel is somewhere between HTV and printable vinyl. You definitely know it's there, but its not still, and actually gets a little softer over time. I hope this helps :)

I print regular sublimation images from Photoshop. I print through Design Space for this because I need the print out and the cut to be exactly the same. When I have tried to print in PS and cut in DS, it's always off just a little. DS is kind of temperamental and doesn't like you cheating on it ;)

no, it's definitely not as thick as glitter htv,...its also not thin and soft like HTV. It's somewhere in between. But it does soften up after a few washes.

not really. The mask would pick up the pieces from the print side. You would need to peel each part off of the film and lay in on the sub transfer - print side down.

I cut my design with the easysubli and print my design on sublimation paper. I press the easysubli on my shirt first then tape my sublimation image over it and press again. Works just fine 🙂 you just have to make sure you mirror the sublimation design.

This does not work if its 100% cotton onesies the temp for some inks that are not sawgrass ink needs way too hot and longer time to show up more vibrant so it scorches the cotton.

The temp for sublimation to activate is minimum 360. But i usually stay around 385.

You cut the subli UN-MIRROR. You print the sublimation transfer MIRRORED.

Great video. I followed your method but when I peeled away the A-sub paper the design was left with white spots. Do you think that the temperature may have been to hot?

I absolutely LOVE subli! It's so versatile. And yes, it works :)

Subli is a bit pricey, which is usually the biggest complaint, but it provides options that are otherwise not available for sublimation. Being able to use it on cotton items is the biggest plus.

Very good methond u help me a lot thanks. But when I've done sublimating and put sublimation paper away there was cardboard on the edges of the easy subli. I don't know how to fix this i tried some methods like don't put so much pressure on the press but still not working. Do you have any idea how to prevent this? I would appreciate any advice. I've been trying to work with easy subli for several months now, but it's not that easy and when I find a solution, something always goes wrong.

Do you mean the edges stick? Troubleshooting for that would be less pressure, less heat and change parchment paper. I swear by Reynolds brand. Always stuck when I used cheaper brands.

Hi Stacy, thank you for this awesome video. Can you please let me know how to turn the bleed on. I have EPSON ET 4700 and Epson ET 16600 printers. I also have Cricut Explorer 2 and Silhouette Cameo 4. Thanks in advance!

The bleed is from Cricut DS I believe

When you click 'make it' the steps show up. Click on 'Send to Printer' and that dialogue will have the bleed option.

How does it with hold after wash and dry? Do you wash cold or can you wash hot, warm? Does it have to be hung dry? I have watched several videos on this technique but have yet to see a good outcome after wash and dry.

I advise my customers to was cool and hang dry. However, shirts I have made for my family - it all goes in the warm wash and into the dryer. We have an zero issues with fading, cracking or peeling.
