his explanation is better than others that I’ve seen . the hdmi cable needs a power source . he says you can plug it in the wall but that is not literally true you need an charger type adapter to be plugged into the wall.

Greedy corporations have it set so that paid content like Netflix... can only work through $50 Apple cable. What I'm amazed by is that the corporations cooperate with each other rather than with their customers. Before streaming it used to be that when you bought content like an album, tape or CD it was yours to play whenever, where ever you want. I remember back then when articles would describe the plans for digital and streaming and everyone thought that was completely Orwellian and would never happen.

These cables are all subject to the licensing game. The authentic Apple brand name one actually tells you which streaming services they support which gives you a good idea of what the cheaper ones do. Fine for streaming your home movies or pics although the pixel resolution is not great. Also I got one that was causing a sound delay, so speech was out of synch even though it worked with KZbin.

I Serg. Thanks for the video! I'm able get the mirroring as you demonstrated using cables and iphone SE 1st gen. But Netfix is a different story. It mirrors up to the point of being able to see and hear trailers on TV but when I opt to play I get only audio-- no video. Cable's instruction manual directs 'enabling Developer Options and Debugging USB'. So does online info I find while searching for resolution to problem. But I cant locate Developer Options nor USB Debugging on iphone. Also when I unplugged the cables from TV then changed the INPUT from HDMI back to TV mode, I get no signal! Is this a wifi connection issue that prevents the openview tv box we use here in South Africa? Or did using the cables / just pulling them out from TV without exiting HDMI do something to TV ? I've rebooted the OVHD tv box, turned tv off/on a nr of times but still "no signal". Can you PLEASE help?!

Hello ! Need help. I use a VPN to watch foreign channel on my iphone. When i connect the HDMI cable to my tv and iphone I can mirror ANYTHING onto my TV. Works perfectly. BUT the foreign channel won’t mirror to the TV ??? So weird. I only hear the sound, no picture. Thanks for helping.

Not any tv, you’ll need a composite to lightning Cable for old TVs and RF to lightning cable for really old TVs

Not really, even old tvs (like a 2007 panosonic) that has an RF in the back still has an HDMI port, most if not all do past 2002. It only doesn't work with CRT tvs, but let's be honest why would you connect an iphone to a 720p or less of that display.
