Ever since the iOS 12 update My iPhone 8 Plus and iPad Air 2 both don’t work with the adapter they are both on iOS 12.1 and I doesn’t matter if i have the display zoom on or not. Sometimes I can get it to mirror on the screen but only for a few seconds and then I cuts out. Sometimes it shows up in settings>general>about but not all the time. It’s not the HDMI cable or screen. I think it has to do with the software because it worked flawlessly for the past couple years.

I have an iPhone SE 2020 edition. My TV is fairly new, supports 4K and has a built-in Apple TV Mirroring ability. I've tried some games on it, and some work fine, and others have too slow of frame rate. Has anyone compared the frame per second of mirroring to the latest Apple TV vs using this cable? Would it improve the frame rate of some games being a wired connection, vs a wireless connection with the Apple TV? Thanks.

Lo Knows, Sort Of get an hdmi stripper. There’s a site called www.tweak4all and they teach u how to use an hdmi splitter to bypass the hdcp copyright locks that apps are putting on the software now be careful not all of them work. Or google hdcp strippers and converters and enjoy it works great

I keep one of these in my tech travel bag, when I go to a hotel I will plug up my iPhone or iPad to the hotel TV and what whatever I want. I will also use it for productivity sometimes with my iPad. Beyond that ya, these things are kinda useless. If iOS treated this as an external second display rather then mirroring unless an app has a specific function and the latency was not so bad it would be decent, but as it is a no.

Trying to use the dongle for the Direct tv app, it says you are required to have direct tv now but when I contacted direct tv themselves I was told it should work. It works for every other streaming app, but as soon as I go to direct tv app it says hdmi output not supported. Now we tried a third party dongle not apple specific and it's coming up with a whole bunch of new issues. Any help please let me know.

I bought this adapter like a week ago. it was working fine with iphone x to 24 inch roku tv but now it does not wanna connect. I tried the 3 hdmi ports on tv and same thing. I have to unplug the adapter or turn off tv and sometimes it works that way, but it is a hit and miss. Am I suposused to just plug in the HDMI cable to ipnone and to Tv and just select on tv the HDMI port that HDMI cable is pluged in right? or do I need to do something extra on iphone to connect it?

The lightning adapter with the HDMI cable does not display a mirror image on the TV. Instead, it shows a bar code and below it a version of Drong Cast app. I have this app on my iphone and have updated the displayed version. what do I do next to create the mirror image on the TV
