Very nicely done. The weight shift, the open heart, the tuning in to one's partner, the subtle lowering and moving together etc. Thank you for sharing! Excellent breakdown.

Merci.

The directives "open the chest / give your heart / stand on the balls of your toes" really help a lot with the projection of movement, which the leader absolutely has to give ... it needs to take place albeit being very subtle. Also the slight but perceptible side to side weight shift which liberates one leg to move is well explained. Not easy to have the projection in place throughout. This makes a lot of those intimidating leader's issues clear. Very well done!!

I love this. Wonderful lesson for a total beginner, which I am, who easily goes off balance. The simple precise action of changing one's weight and waiting for his movement to give me direction - very helpful instructions. And I love the instructions on posture. That is what I find so elegant about tango, the posture and embrace which makes the two people seem like one.

Could you teach more on how the follower know what direction the leader want her to walk ? Forward? Left ? Right? I mean the signals….?
@alfacentauri3686
@alfacentauri3686 Жыл бұрын
The signal/lead comes as a directed movement through the connection, i.e. the arm embracement. The lead must come slightly before the first step so the leader has a chance to react. I'd say that the steps and movement for both the follower and the leader should be a continuation of the lead. Pablo expresses it as that the move comes from the center of the leader (not from his feet).

I am a new subscriber and have started learning Argentine Tango recently, for about past 6 months. I enjoy watching your lessons on youtube and especially showing the breakdown of steps. One problem that I face in general, ( and not necessarily related to this particular video ) is how does one shift partner’s weight to the other foot seamlessly while dancing and without losing own balance. Can you offer me some advice ? Thanks

I will hazard a guess. Practice the man's steps and leads, by yourself first, to practice maintaining balance.
