@@cgijoe5671 I got a walk cycle down when I first started SFM. To say it's clunky is an understatement by it works. Running is the real thing I just can't do to save my life

Just a question about the root part with its rig whilst the walking speed. If it's too difficult to put its rightful poses if it depends on the walking speed, does it matter to mirror the poses to get it right or is it just that it doesn't matter and that it could be any kind of walk cycle to match its walking speed?

Do you have all the bones of the scout selected? If so you have to double click the scout icon and keep selecting until you find the proper bone to animate. And remember to select a rig for easier animation.

@@JayceMcCormick spline is easy to use imo, spline is just the exact same a linear but spline is adding more human like fluidity to the movements such as when it’s fast it will do an opposite motion that’s small and finish with the motion you set the last key frame as

Do you just animation the walk cycle still and use the transform and move it to make them walk, or do you animate the entire walk cycle from A to B?

I saw another tutorial a while ago where it said that you should never animate the root because you get weird slides and in others walk cycles tutorials people use the pelvis instead of the root like in this video. I guess both methods are valid right?.

Would you recommend straight ahead animating? or blocking/posetopose? I am working on a project where a character requires different speeds throughout the walk animation. And I'm not sure how to go about it

If the character has to get from one exact spot to another, blocking. If not, straight ahead works fine
