Alyssa, your videos are so informative and useful!! You showcase the beauty of Rome really well. I'm going through your videos to plan my trip to Rome this year. This is really great content. A small suggestion: at the end of walking trips, maybe you could include a Google maps view of the route? It would help newbies like me to take the same route when we come to Rome..

Hello Elyssa. I will be traveling to Rome in October and I am really enjoying your entertaining and informational videos. I have a question about this one, the walk from the Vatican City to the Colosseum. You posted this on June 30 yet all of the people, including you, are wearing jackets and it seems to be rather cold. When was this filmed? Surely it is not cold in Rome at the end of June. Grazie for the great info and keep up the good work.

Thanks a lot for watching my video. I am glad you enjoyed it and found it helpful. I filmed it all in winter but didn't get around to compiling and editing the video until more recently. October is a beautiful month to visit Rome. It will be warmer than you might think, and you should also expect huge crowds as it is peak season in Rome: kzbin.info/www/bejne/o16rd5eYoJ2ip5I Thanks again, and have a great trip!

Just a heads up, I know it's fashionable for locals to hate the Vittoriano but you do get a fantastic view from the panarama terrace. This monument celebrates the modern state of Italy which is a nice contrast to the classical and Catholic Rome.
@Romewise2 жыл бұрын
It's true some locals dislike the Vittoriano, but many do love it, including myself. It's part of history at any rate and yes, you are right, the views from the top are the best! I didn't include it as a thing to do on this walk, as the walk is already pretty long but I do recommend it to anyone with time to do it.

I made this in January. November is not as cold. Rome has gotten busier in recent years and there is less of a low or shoulder season than there once was. November can be busy, especially at the beginning of the month. You might find this useful: kzbin.info/www/bejne/d57ZqZWLrsl7i5I

Hello and thanks for watching! I made this video in winter. There are a lot of tourists because these are two of the most popular sites in Rome. But also because Rome has visitors year-round. Here are my tips for the best time to visit Rome: www.romewise.com/best-time-to-visit-rome.html
@julieharper66909 ай бұрын
Do walk a fast pace or more of a stroll to get that time frame
@Romewise9 ай бұрын
I did a mix because I was walking sort of fast (just my pace) but also stopping to film and take photos. Either way, it's about an hour more or less between the two sites. Google maps shows 48 - 58 minutes so I would give yourself up to 1.5 hours for strolling and making short stops.

Our hotel is close to coliseum and we have to walk to vatican museum. Our tickets are for 11 am. Do we have to be there in line before 11 or be there by 11. We got skipped the ticket line but not skip the line. Im really stress out about that long walk lol
@Romewise2 жыл бұрын
First of all, if you are actually visiting the Vatican Museums, I suggest you consider another way to get there. You will do a LOT of walking once you are inside the Vatican, and a walk from the Colosseum to the Vatican will tire you out. But either way, if your tickets are for 11AM, you can arrive at about 10:30/10:45. You have 15 minutes' leeway on either side of your booking time.

Hi Silvia - great question. For the most part it is, although Rome is not the most wheelchair friendly city. We do have ramps on some but not all sidewalks. The good thing is that it's pretty much a flat walk except for the few places I mention walking up stairs or a ramp, but those can also be skipped.
