Speaking of the Arch of Titus, there are speculations that the jewish community want this arch taken down because it is a symbol of antisemitism. I hope this doesn't come to fruition. The jewish community are going overboard with their influence and not to mention their genocide in Gaza.

The Arch of Constantine is so underrated. People don't realize how Constantine changed the path of history for Europe and Christianity.

I'm glad that they've restored some parts of the Colosseum. When I was here last, some of those columns were not there yet. They should keep on restoring. Don't stop.

Great video! If you get the FULL EXPERIENCE TICKET WITH ENTRY TO THE ARENA OF THE COLOSSEUM (includes SUPER) can you visit palatine hill and Roman forum before your entry to Colosseum, as long as it’s within 24hrs of your timed entry. There is a 6pm Colosseum slot and was thinking could do SUPER spots before earlier in the day and then Colloseum at 6pm…?

Love your no nonsense, non Instagram-y, local resident knowledge-based videos. Years and years ago (decades, really), back when the Roman Forum was free, there was a great entrance right at the corner of where Via Monte Tarpeo turns into Via del Tempio di Giove. You walked down a few steps, through the turnstile and then you were on the ancient Clivus Capitolinus and walked down into the Roman Forum and thru the Arch of Septimus Severus. They closed it years ago when they started charging to enter, but I see no reason why they couldn't open that one again too...

The day we visited the Roman Forum n Colosseum there was the Roman Marathon going on. We didn’t get any bus or cab to take us from the Capuchin Crypt to Colosseum. We walked all the way and found the short cut from Piazza Venezia was closed to general traffic. We were asked to take the other route when I suddenly spotted the Pillars from the Roman Forum and we entered through the Mamertine Prison. It was absolutely a blessing as we thought we will never be able to reach on time for our Colosseum booked time. We walked all the way straight to the Colosseum and enjoyed the Roman Forum to the fullest.

Are these sites walkable to each other? Or do we need to take an Uber from place to place. (We are not going to the Vatican it will be closed when we are there) We do have a tour booked for the Jewish Quarter and the Synagogue though oh and the Collesium too. So basically the other sites you mentioned like angels bridge and so on… walkable or Ubers? Of walkable, will the hotel concierge help map out our day? Thanks…
@Romewise
@Romewise 10 сағат бұрын
In the description of this video, I've included a link to a Google map showing both days' walks. You can see where everything is and how far apart they are on that map. I planned it so it's walkable and you should not need any other transportation unless you are tired or have walking issues.

@Romewise
@Romewise 22 сағат бұрын
They were supposed to keep this tour in 2024 but so far I've not seen it on their website either. However, a tour guide told me that if you email the Vatican museums, they can organize this tour if you have enough people. Alternatively, you can go at the last entry time, enjoy an aperitivo on your own, and stay in the Sistine Chapel until closing time. Here's an example of how to do this: kzbin.info/www/bejne/sHKvo5Rja6xogLs

@Romewise
@Romewise 22 сағат бұрын
Yes it's an amazing tour, but since the Vatican Museums charges a LOT for it, the tour companies have to charge enough to cover the cost. Only 20 people max can be on a given tour, so this cost is to cover what the Vatican is charging for this tour.

A travel tip I have always used. Make a photo copy of your identification pages of your passport and carry that with you when you are abroad leaving the original in the safe or other secure location at the hotel. This way if you are stopped by the police and asked to check your passport you have that copy (this is a common scam for pick pockets so double protection). If its legitimate they will go with you to the hotel or it will chase them off either way win. Then if you want you can carry your home countries ID card or drivers license as a secondary official backup without risking your passport being lost or stolen.
@Romewise
@Romewise 22 сағат бұрын
Thank you so much for sharing this travel tip. I do the same and suggest the same to visitors. There is a huge debate online as to whether or not you need to walk around Rome with your passport and the answer is no, you do not. You can do as you mentioned. But some people feel very strongly that they have to carry their passport so I guess that's up to them! Thanks again for sharing!

Hello, do we need to give the online ticket in printed form or is it enough to show it as a pdf file from our phone? If we need to give it in printed form, is there a booth that will print the ticket for us when we go to the colosseum without waiting in the other ordinary ticket line? And for those under the age of 18, tickets cannot be purchased on the website, so can the person under the age of 18 enter with his/her family without waiting in the other ordinary ticket lines or do they have to wait and buy a ticket? In 1 week I am planning a trip with my family and since we want to visit many places, we do not want to wait in line, thank you for your attention.
@Romewise
@Romewise 22 сағат бұрын
As I mentioned, you do not need to print your ticket. The pdf on your phone will suffice. If you have kids under 18, and are visiting the Colosseum with a standard entry ticket, you can't book for them on the website. You just book for yourselves and then get their tickets onsite. If you are with kids under 18 and are booking any Full Experience ticket, you MUST book the free tickets for them and provide their names. Either way, you can collect their tickets inside. I show you how here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jnnKq6VvjtCke6s

HI! Thank you! I'm booking Uffizi skip the line tickets, maybe more, but noticed a note about tickets for <18 years old can be bought on site subject to availability. I'm traveling with <18 daughters, do I just buy myself an entrance ticket and hope there's availability for them when I go? Do you know how that works?
@Romewise
@Romewise 22 сағат бұрын
As a state-run site, the Uffizi offers free entry to everyone under 18. You just buy your own ticket and then when you go, you can collect their free tickets on site. I've never heard of a child being turned away. www.uffizi.it/en/pages/free-and-reduced-tickets#free

I hate how secularist criticize the Church for tearing down historic buildings, but it's the opposite. People were doing it anyway regardless it was the decree of the Popes that put a stop to most well preserved building by declaring them Churches.
