Imagine going looking at your trail camera and you see a man making a video of himself teaching people how to walk. But definitely helpful for hunters, good video

I naturally walk kinda like this because I have a disorder that affects my muscles so I tend to bend my feet a bit so I ended up accidentally scaring people because they don't hear me around
@bobu52134 жыл бұрын
Same lol. But I've just always done it because I tend to walk on just my feet.
@Widdekuu914 жыл бұрын
I wanted to say the exact same. I don't bend my feet, but I don't know what it is, even when I run, I don't make any noise. So I always run around the corner and people start screaming. Or I open a door and people don't notice me and scream when I sit down. I walk up to people lóudly as not to scare them and they still don't hear me. I run down a staircase, nobody hears me. One time I came from the hallway and walked up to my at-the-time-boyfriend behind the computerscreen on which he'd promised me, he was doing "work". He didn't hear me approaching and well, that scared *me* , for once. But on average, it's the others that are scared and I genuienly can only avoid that problem by wearing loud flip-flops and heels. My neighbour bytheway, he walks on his heels, so he presses his foot ínto the floor with each step. He has a bit of weight too, so when he wakes up to get some water, the floor is shaking at my side of the wall.

I grew up in the country and I have native American blood. My mom called it Indian Walking. I've used it a lot, which actually startles a lot of people because they don't think a plus size girl could move quick and quiet but I do.

Also, we should be sure not to drag our toes. I've played with this since I was a kid sneaking downstairs for TV late at night, and last year while geocaching before this video existed. Sometimes I go toe 1st and carefully test the ground before trusting my weight to it, other times I do this side foot thing from the video, sometimes it's a combination of the 2. Creaky floors in an old house are the worst. Off trail with natural tree debris is also a bit of a nightmare. I've noticed while creeping quietly in my current house I can hear my feet bare feet peeling off the wooden floors with each step. I suppose some sort of chalk or dusting would fix that, but I haven't tried going that far. I'm just doing it for fun.

Decent concept. That being said what I'm noticing and your not mentioning, is that the slower you move, the more in control and typically quieter you are. You do this in every demonstration you give. Try your technique while walking quickly, or while running. How quietly do you move rolling your ankles at a running pace? Please don't hurt yourself if you actually attempt it....

I like to practice this at animals, I always try to sneak up on them whenever I find one, surprisingly enough it works almost all the time. Except when the wind blows from me to them of course. But they are very good “partners” to practice at lol, if you have any around you of course!
@LarpMix3 жыл бұрын
Absolutely. If you can sneak up pretty close to an animal, you can get right up on a person.

The only problem I can see with turning your ankle like that is the risk of hurting it on a rock, tree root, or gopher hole. Outside of that, good practical video.
@goodpeoplefound79404 жыл бұрын
Not entirely actually I would argue that it's the other way around isn't it if you are walking through the woods in this manner you're doing it very slowly, and stepping on a root or a rock is actually preferable because it's quieter.

3:04 he made me google whether ninjas walked heel first and the top result from google read "Step on the floor by the outer edges (sides) of your feet. This reduces the sound. Some major stealth walking techniques require you to step on your tiptoe first or your heel first but the ninja used to step on by the outer sides of their feet first. Ninjas had to be very quiet when walking and often trained by walking on the sand and gravel to test their silent and trace-less walking skills."

Heyo. We play in deeper woods with only a few paths. Any advice on sneaking through dense woods (tree branches, dead branches reaching for you, brambles trying to snag your cloak, etc.) esp. when a necromancer is actively looking for you in the dark, quiet forest bc you smacked his brother with a boffer broom?
@LarpMix5 жыл бұрын
Certainly walking like this, but also avoiding fabrics that are prone to stick to things. If your game is very immersive, that'll be difficult. If it's not, get a cloak that stuff won't snag on, or sew a liner on a cloak so it's reversible. Move with the wind, if it's windy. Stay low, use trees as cover, throw small rocks to divert attention elsewhere. Best of luck.

@LarpMix3 жыл бұрын
Anything that doesn't make sound when rubbed together. Fleece and Wool are good examples, but test some things out. Anything that swooshes or makes sound is out, this will mostly be more modern and synthetic fabrics.

The ninja walk bend knees. Heel to toe = more energy and that can cause your feet to hurt more Your rouge walk is actually called the fox walk. And it’s better to do that bare foot or wearing moccasins/leather shoes like the native Americans. And was used by many hunter gatherer/ nomads predating the ninja
@bobu52134 жыл бұрын
What kind of shoes do you think are good for this? I tend to wear boxing shoes while needing to walk quietly.
@LarpMix4 жыл бұрын
That's a tough call, I'd say wrestling or boxing shoes are good. Barefoot or as close to that as you can get, like just heavy wool socks. If they still make those toe shoes for running. The other option is to glue carpet on the bottom of some thin soled shoes, that would also leave no footprints either... You can also put something like fleece on a shoe bottom as well. So, depending how much time you have to plan and what you're doing, there a lot of options. Try some out and see what works best. The boots I'm using in this video are probably the worst possible option.

Can you actually run silently?
@LarpMix4 жыл бұрын
With practice you can definitely move like this quietly, but not silently. A lot depends on the terrain, practice and how aware whatever you are trying to avoid is. Even at my size, in full larp kit, I've quietly enough through an open field to touch people and scare the heck out of them. I'd say practice and be aware of everything in front of you as you move.

There is no "humdred years on ninjitsu knowledge". The "ninjitsu" being tought today was codified in the 20th century and marketed at white people. There was no historical "ninjitsu" as a specific martial arts discipline. That stuff is a modern thing marketed at modern people outside of japan.
@Tyler-mr5tj4 жыл бұрын
Hilarious considering ninjitsu isn't a martial discipline, it's a study of unconventional warfare and espionage associated with fuedal Japan though as with most things today is portrayed innacurately.
