You should make more of this videos. Not all of us is into martial arts but the information that you share in your 3 videos is amazingly good. It really helped me and I have a thorn meniscus surgery and I'm starting in Parkour and Yoga. This is great material!

I think I would need some other prior exercises to be able to even contemplate trying this exercise. Can't help noticing that Dr Spina is very lean and already very flexible.

you're right, this is a movement that requires many pre-requisites. Maybe Dr Dre was assuming that most martial artists already have some of the requisite flexibility/mobility to try it out, i dunno

Dr. Spina, Do you offer any training materials or seminars specific to jiu jitsu? From your website, it appears that all of your seminars are focused towards the allied health fields and not competitors specifically. thanks

I have tried this and would love to do it more, but it hurts my knees:(
@strongarmboys
@strongarmboys 7 жыл бұрын
respeezy I know it's a year later. if it hurts your knees you proabably do not have the proper range in your knees and maybe your ankles. this is a pretty advanced move. you would have to start by training your range of motion and mobility in your knees and ankles first. look up his video on intrinsic foot strengthening

Luis Molina I was hoping someone was kind enough to explain what a beginner like me would have to do to work up to this exercise so thank you!

this is very late and i am sure that you have done this by now... internal rotation(or lack there of) will be a large factor in causing the shearing effect of the knee . address this with an FR practitioner. or atleast get a FRA. enjoy this journey it is very rewarding

As per other comment, you need to have good flexibility to even try this. This clearly is not for beginners by any stretch of the imagination. Useless without earlier progressions.

This duck walk is great, but if you wait 200++ lb? I'm disliking it because author do not address all body types/weights in this video.

James Mellen Who said he is overweight? In my opinion, anyone who is 6 ft plus and trains should be 200+ pounds. As the old mantra goes... that I saw on a tshirt one time... Grown man > 200lbs

the orginal poster made it sound like he was talking about overweight people. and if your overweight (depends on how much) this exercise isn't right for you. its all opinion do whatever the fuck you wanna do as the saying goes Tommy Touhghnuts
