Thank you for the tips!! I eat brown rice mostly for health but it's so hard to get it fluffy. This helps a lot

Is it necessary to wash it 3 times? And why soak before cooking?
@HomeCookingwithSomjit Жыл бұрын
@califomia, Yes, it is to wash off all the starchy fine dust from the rice. The reason for soaking is to help make brown rice more fluffy after cooking. Usually, the brow rice is hard and not so fluffy if cooked straight away, quite difficult to eat. I hope this helps. Thank you 😀😀

Hi Dewi Dewi. That's a great idea to add in garlic to enhance the fragrant of the rice. Thank you for sharing 😀

I found it pretty difficult to rinse brown rice without a colander. A lot of rice kernels were floating although they were not simply hulls. Is that normal?
@HomeCookingwithSomjit2 жыл бұрын
Hi Tala Wolf, Usually, the rice that floats in water is not fresh. It may have been kept for a long time, so the rice weevil started to eat up from the inside and make it hollow hence, it floats. Normally, I will discard the rice grains that float during the washing. I hope this helps. Thanks for the comment 😀😀

Hi Expat••Kitchen🌶🔥, thank you for the feedback 😀 It may not look very appetising, but it's fluffy when well-cooked and goes super well with heavy-bodied curries. Hope it helps 😀
