If you own a beautiful wig, we suggest a shampoo & conditioner made for high quality synthetic fiber like our "Keep It Clean" shampoo and "Keep It Sleek" conditioner on our ite. If you must wash without a wig shampoo, no guarantees how it will turn out, but I suggest watering down whatever you use to keep the detergent and harsh chemicals from damaging your wig. Cold water only, rinse thoroughly. Brush wig out before washing and never comb or brush your wig when it's wet. Rochelle

We always try to make wigs last as long as possible, & we've been using and offering our cleansing products for over 15 years. They are great & we know exactly what they do, However, I don't want to mislead or make promises about products I don't know about. You never want to use regular hairspray on your wigs because the high alcohol level is so drying to the fiber - just like when women use it on their own fine, delicate hair. It's leaves the fiber "crunchy" not good. No guarantees, but I'd suggest you either enjoy it just as it is or wash and conditon with a great wig shampoo/conditioner for synthetic fibers. I can't promise what will happen. Our hairspray is low alcohol and that is always best. Also, use it sparingly...

Hi there! You can do either. Clip the Wig Hanger onto the tag in the back of the wig and hang it to dry dry or you can insert the hook of a hanger through a weft at the bottom-back of your wig, turn it over and then hang up to dry.

I am so so happy I bought the Katie. Love it - getting ready in the mornings is so much easier and I look fabulous all day. Just wondering - I have noticed hairs getting caught inside the rid. Is this normal? How will it effect the look of the wig. Should I try to pull them back to the outside of the wig. Will it get worse? As said the look of the wig is better than I could have expected. Donna Heard So happy to hear that you look fabulous in your wig! I glad you are loving the convenience of wig wearing! Sometimes hair can get pulled through the wefts and you will see the hair inside the wig cap. It's not enough that it would be noticeable when you are wearing the wig, you will just see it on the inside of the cap when you take the wig off. You can carefully pull these hairs back outside - looking at the inside of the wig cap, use the end of a comb or pick and from the outside front part of the wig pull the end of the comb through the open weft and around the hair that's inside the cap and pull it all the way through so that it comes back out to the outside of the wig. I hope this helps!

Very informative, thank you for making this video, also I should mention that you are absolutely gorgeous. ❤ I buy all of my wigs on Amazon, none of them are lace fronted because I buzzed my real hair off about a month ago. I buy just $24.00 synthetic wigs with an elastic band. The darker 24" one I have always gets tangles easily so I usually comb it first with a very wide tooth comb, and then I comb through it with a tangle teezer.

Hi Sylvia, Leave the wig right side out and hang upside down using either a coat hanger or Wig Hanger from the very back, bottom of the wig. Just hang it up high enough so the hair hangs down and can dry thoroughly.

I had no idea you needed to use so much shampoo, that's *so much* more than what you'd need if you were washing your own hair, so interesting. Can you tell me why you need to use so much? Your first squeeze was already enough for 2-3 washes of waist-length hair, and then you added *even more*....it was so surprising! Claudia Owens Hi Claudia, that's a tough situation as you should use a shampoo that is specifically made for use on synthetic fibers, our Godiva's Secret Wigs shampoo is specifically formulated for use on synthetic hair, or if you are using another shampoo be sure to check the label and make sure it states it's good for use on synthetic hair. Regular shampoo and conditioner can dry out your wig. I would suggest that you just use cold water to rinse through the wig until you are able to find something you can purchase. The better you care for the wig the longer it will last.

Can you really get the shampoo and conditioner adequately rinsed out that fast?? I have soft water and I feel like I"m rinsing and rinsing and rinsing and sometimes my wig still comes out looking oily from the product still left in the piece.

Yes, soft water can make a wig feel that it isn't rinsed well. If it really bothers you, consider buying a gallon jug of spring water in a container just to use some when washing your wig. Honestly, this is exactly how I've washed my own wigs for over 30 years - I don't have the time and the wigs don't need longer in my opinion. Do what works and feels right for you...I think the oily feeling is the water. I rinse quick and use about a 1/3 cap of shampoo , then the same for conditioner. Try using less and see what happens. xo Ro

We advise never using a hair dryer, curling iron or flat iron on your high quality synthetic wigs and hair pieces because heat can damage the fibers. H Keaton, If your wig is a Godiva's Secret Wig, they are all high quality synthetic and the best part about our wigs is they have memory which is what makes them wash & wear so they return to their original style after washing. Unfortunately, i'm not able to say how other wigs will do after they are washed.

what do you recommend for ppl that live in a hot climate (texas) its end of summer and even our cold water is not cool. what should i do to wash it?

Hi there, We have the same situation here in So. Cal. You might need to just fill a basin with as cool water as possible and then toss in some ice cubes to make sure the water is cool. Just enough ice to cool the water if you feel it is too warm. Shampoo your wig and then dump the water, rinse the basin and refill with water and add ice again to condition. You may need to repeat the water with ice an additional time to make sure you have removed all cleaning product from your wig. Also, I have found that sometimes waiting till later in the evening can make a difference where the water temperature will be a bit cooler. I hope this helps.

Levi Isaacs-Campbell Hi Levi, you should use a shampoo like ours that is specifically formulated for use on synthetic fibers, normal shampoo that you use on your natural hair will dry out a wig. You only use a capful of the shampoo and you would wash it once every 10-14 wearings so the shampoo and conditioner will last for some time.
