I clean RVs professionally and respect your video but don't ever use a turbo nozzle on the RV. You can easily cut a hole in the roof membrane and force water into the RV.

I’ve tried just about everything on those roofs to get them clean. As long as I’m not stupid about it, the turbo nozzle does the best without any issues. In fact, if you have a recommendation, I’d take it

Same here! And even there... Too much pressure just blows the soap off instead of really having less pressure and a better rinse! Also the brush is too wide, its harder to control when cleaning tall RVs and tight spaces, you might end up scratching something!

@TheDetailingBusiness2 жыл бұрын
On a roof that is nasty and black, I’ll fill the foam cannon full strength with Meguiars all purpose cleaner and scrub. I may cautiously use a rotating nozzle on the pressure washer also. Then rinse and follow with the hydro 2 and rinse. The overspray is inevitable. Once Im done on the roof I don’t go back up, but I will try to overspray onto the roof from the ground to try to rinse

You’ll likely need a brush and definitely soap. You can use a wash and wax soap. An ounce of 2 in your foam cannon topped off with water. Something like meguiars wash and wax soap will work. The pink stuff doesn’t have a wax. Just soap

Nice method to wash the RV. Please, can you detail the steps for the washing process. What quantity of Meguiars I need to put in the foam cannon? What quantity of Hydro 2 Silica I need to put in the foam cannon? Can I combine both and apply on the same time and rinse? or, I need to apply individual and rinse every time? @TheDetailingBusiness3 жыл бұрын
The meguiars wash soap is great for breaking loose the grime but it doesn’t have a wax in it. The hydro 2 is the ultimate final wash and rinse. I don’t think you can combine the two but I’ve never tried. Usual I put one or 2 ounces of meguiars wash soap topped off with water in the foam cannon and wash and rinse. Then I follow with one or 2 ounces topped off with water of the hydro 2 in the foam cannon. Spray the foam on and rinse off quickly

How did you keep from half the soap drying in the sun? Was it a really cool day? How do you keep from water spots? Do you use DI water? How did you get rid of the black steaks? Did that stuff clean them off all in one shot?
@TheDetailingBusiness2 жыл бұрын
1. I do one side at a time and I work quickly. 2. I just did one today in full sun and 95 degrees, but a cool day is better. 3. I collect rain water. There’s a video on my channel, “How to get spot free water”. 4. There is a black streak remover specifically for RVs however I have found meguiars super degreaser works just as well and I already have it on hand and use it for other applications. 5. The hyper wash is good, but not potent enough to remove black streaks. I always focus on the black streaks first with super degreaser and get them out of the way. They are usually on the front and on the side where gutters join. Then I move on to washing

@TheDetailingBusiness2 жыл бұрын
It’s likely something called artillery fungus. Google image the term and see if that is what yours looks like. It actually is a type of mold from trees. There are a few home remedies online using a vinegar or bleach solution. But being a detailer, I would probably start with meguiars all purpose cleaner sprayed on and let it sit for a minute but not let it dry and maybe scrub with a bug sponge in a bucket of hot water and then rinse. Let me know if those images match your situation. If not I’ll get more details from you to better diagnose the issue
@reidcorbett8952 жыл бұрын
I don't think it is artillery fungus as spots are not raised and don't have texture. Spots on my trailer are 1/4" diameter, plus or minus. I will try maguire soap first though. I'd take a picture of it but trailer over 2 hrs away. I have a few gray spots on old trailer that Vim removed so I will try that also.

@TheDetailingBusiness3 жыл бұрын
Oxidized RV's are tough. I've done a few and now I usually turn them down. Once they are at that point, there is very little improvement that can be done and usually the customer is expecting a miracle, which isn't possible. Buffing on graphics can be done, but it is risky.

I just completed a 36ft RV with heavy oxidation and was able to bring it back to life! I avoided the graphics as much as I could during my rotary step and went over all the graphics with my DA at the end. Came out great! Took forever but the customers were beyond pleased!
@Mike-qo4kp Жыл бұрын
I restored a winnebago adventurer that had been left in the sun over ten years it was a 2001 and I restored it about three years ago. The graphics you want to avoid, if you can get replacement decals from the manufacturer do so that makes it much easier. If not you'll have to pay a print shop to make new ones. From there an eraser wheel will get the old ones off quick. You don't want to hit decals with rubbing or polishing compound but you can hand wax them. As for restoring the gel coat use marine grade rubbing compound on a good stiff wool white wheel, at a pretty high speed. Avoid using anything but a rotary buffer, Dewalt makes the strongest one. After you will want to use marine polish (maguires makes both they come in blue bottles) and a foam pad setup. You can use a DA if you want. Don't go crazy with the speed. Like this video mentions look at all seals check all windows especially double paned glass. You can and should use cleaner wax by hand after you polish. On a good sized rig expect the job to take at least a weeknif younare a pro two weeks if new to doing the work. Mask off the area where you are working trust me it helps. Also faded black decals you can if you are careful and have a good spray gun setup you can use black spray paint. Remember to get a uv protecting ClearCoat over any painting that you do. For example the winnebago had a bunch of panels for storage that I repainted and bumper pieces and the black decals that looked sad I repainted. It took me months honestly, to restore that rig. Got 25k for it tho. Good luck.

I got wax on the bottom metal skirt area and can’t get it off. What do you recommend?
@TheDetailingBusiness2 жыл бұрын
Yeah those bottom skirts are usually a rough finish and can’t be waxed with anything that will leave a white residue. If you have all purpose cleaner you can try that, or a 50/50 alcohol/water spray and wipe with a towel. If nothing else you can try a rag in a warm bucket of water with a little dawn dish soap mixed in. Use a quick detailer spray for a little protection and no residue

How concerned does a person have to be about decals when using different types of foam and a pressure washer? What precautions should be taken? Thanks for the video?
@TheDetailingBusiness3 жыл бұрын
Decals and graphics are always a concern. I’ve actually talked directly to meguiars about this topic. The main precaution is to make sure your soap is a dedicated quality car wash soap. PH balanced, non caustic, nothing that can dry and crack vinyl graphics. Most quality automotive soaps serve this purpose. Another is to be sure your not blasting the graphics with your pressure washer. Just take it easy around them and don’t get to close with the spray head. Meguiars suggested to me using a spray wax on graphics after a wash for added protection, particularly Meguiars D156 synthetic spray wax.

Not really if you have basic knowledge of electric, plumbing, and general maintenance of something. Compared to boat detailing this is much better.

The soap I am using is carpro hydro 2 foam. Like I explained in the video, it cleans, and leaves a durable sealant in one step. amzn.to/36YBlrL

Nice video. However, I would never use a brush.

@@TheDetailingBusiness You have more foam than a Euro dance rave. Have you ever heard the term, "a dab will do you" A little squirt of soap will do the same job as your foam party.

No way will I ever use a broom to wash my RV
@TheDetailingBusiness2 жыл бұрын
Do it by hand. Every inch. And when your done, do your neighbors by hand. Then get up the next day and do it again. Repeat that every day, then let me know if your comment is still true. Not a broom by the way.

Someone should make a video about how awesome you are at doing something that everyone can do. Still wondering why your searching “how to wash an rv” if your so awesome at it. You must be young. That’s ok. Beat up on the old guy if it makes you feel tough.

Will this removed light oxidation?
@TheDetailingBusiness Жыл бұрын
Maybe if you scrub hard enough. Oxidation likely requires a machine polisher and a compound or polish
