How to Wash Locks to Preserve the Texture

I'm washing Leicester Longwool locks in a way that preserves the texture. I plan to use these locks in future felting projects.

These came out so beautiful 😍 I was wondering how hot was your water and how much power scour did you use? I was told the water has to be 140 degrees or above to remove the lanolin.
